It’s simple to use and gives very consistent results
I really like the Work Sharp Rolling Knife Sharpener. It’s simple to use and gives very consistent results thanks to the four preset sharpening angles. I was able to sharpen all of my kitchen knives quickly without guessing the angle, which is a big plus. The rolling design feels stable and controlled, and my knives came out noticeably sharper after just a few passes. It works great for both everyday touch-ups and more dull blades. Overall, it’s well-made, beginner-friendly, and a solid addition to any kitchen knife set.

I have found that sharpening EDCs is a real challenge with this device but maybe it's just me.
I was excited to find this sharpener and believed it could be the answer to my sharpening woes. I've found that the sharpener works well for larger knives (kitchen) and not well on smaller EDC knives nor small kitchen knives. I've seen reviews that say just the opposite of what I have experienced. Just does not work for my EDCs. The blades will not stay in place. I wish the magnets were more powerful. I am just disappointed in my purchase. Been sharpening knives for about a year now and I did well with it at first. Now, I just can't seen to raise a burr on that edge to save my life. Frustrating. The build quality of the sharpener is up to Cold Steel standards and I have no problem with that. Packaging is exceptional for gift giving needs.

Works well, offers great control over sharpening process
I have been using a pull through disc sharpener for many years and have been very happy with it. Sharpened edges didn’t seem to last very long, but easy to restore. Saw a few reviews for this model, and despite some negative reviews, went ahead and purchased. Absolutely love this approach - provides more feel/control than the pull thru sharpener and the different discs let me customize the work a bit more. A few tips based on the reviews I’ve seen here; 1) the sharp edge of the knife blade goes up! Watch the videos… 2) you dont have apply a lot of force to get a good result, especially with the coarse (320) disc. 3) attach the knife to the base in the middle of the blade, that way the block is supporting the blade for most of the sharpening stroke, with only ~1-2 inches of tip protruding - less bending of the blade tip this way Overall very happy with the purchase - sharpened edges are definitely a bit sharper and although I’ve only used it for most knives once, edges seem more durable as well.

Incredible performance no box.
First the actual product gets 5 stars. I have a huge number of personal high end chefs knives fishing knives and hunting knives. I usually hand sharpen each one with wet stones which is time consuming. I tried this on a selection for fine fillet knives through long carving knives and it brings the end back to dry shave sharpness with very few stroke of the 600 grit and honing grit. I don’t have any dull knives so I can’t comment on having to reconditioning a chipped or completely dull knife. Reason I gave it 3 stars was to get a repsonce from Work sharp because my sharpener came in a plain amazon box with the sharpener and plates simply in the Amazon box. No work sharp box. Just came loose in an Amazon box? I’m hoping I can get the box that I assume it should have come in.

Works as advertised.
A sharp tool is a good tool. Hand sharpening has become more difficult for me for several reasons, but the sharpener wheel and guide are very simple to set up and use. The magnetic holder for aligning the correct blade angle is a smart idea. While i do wish there was an even finer grit, the two-step process with the honing rod does an excellent job and it is quick.

Take it slow, nice if you don't/can't do sharpening stones
First off, the more common thing a knife needs is to be *honed*, not sharpened. Honing a knife involves reshaping the existing material to be more knife-like again, since using a knife deforms the edge over time. After enough deformation you might need to remove material in order to get it honed properly, and that's sharpening. This comes with three "discs"; "low grit", "high grit", and ceramic. The low grit is for quickly removing material on knives that either are at the wrong angle or are seriously dull. The high grit is for gently removing material from knives that are starting to dull but for which honing is not as effective as it once was, or for preparing the edge for honing after using the low grit. The ceramic is for honing the edge once it has been sharpened. You will primarily be using the ceramic disc for maintenance of your knives. I have a fantastic electric knife sharpener with a honing section, but it's large, heavy, and loud. This little thing gets equally impressive results with only slightly more time put into it; we're talking like an extra 30 to 60 seconds. The fact the magnetic knife holder also acts as a storage for the two discs not in active use is a wonderful space-saving and organizational feature. As long as you don't go fast when using it, you should be able to the disc in contact with just the edge. You don't want to accidentally touch the discs to other parts of the knife or lose contact with the edge, as neither of those situations will help you sharpen and/or hone your knife. But again, just go slow and steady and you'll get there with barely any increase in effort/time. It's almost as expensive as an electric sharpener though, and more error prone, so it's probably not worth it if you can get/want to get/don't mind having an electric sharpener. Everyone will tell you that you gotta learn how to use sharpening stones but no, you don't, this is going to be great for like 99% of people cooking at home. Especially since you hone the edge far more frequently than you need to actually sharpen it. Using a honing rod or similar is extremely error-prone and can actually ruin your edge/knife if you don't learn how to use it properly, and so this device helps ensure there's minimal chance for error and that it is far more difficult to mess up the knife.
