Alesis Nitro Max Electric Drum Kit

User: Starter kit for my son We bought the Alesis Nitro Max as a starter electronic kit for my son, and it has been an absolute standout. If you want to introduce drums into the house without driving the rest of the household (or the neighbours) crazy, this kit hits the sweet spot between realistic feel, sound quality, and compact design. What Makes It Brilliant: Quiet & Natural Feel: The white mesh heads provide fantastic rebound while keeping physical acoustic stick noise to a minimum. For an instrument as inherently loud as drums, it’s about as quiet and domestic-friendly as you could ever reasonably hope for with headphones. Space-Saving Footprint: The rack setup is about as compact as you can get for a full kit. It tucks neatly into the corner of a bedroom or home studio without completely dominating the room. Great Sounds & Connectivity: The module features punchy, realistic kit presets and includes Bluetooth audio streaming, which makes playing along to practice tracks or lesson videos off a tablet completely seamless. Huge Upgrade Path: Because the Nitro Max is so popular and uses standard rack sizing, there is a massive second-hand market for extra pads, toms, and cymbals. Expanding the kit as skills progress is easy and inexpensive. NB, the control unit only supports one more tom and cymbal. Setup Tip & Minor Quirk: Snare Arm Tendency to Slip: The rack-mounted L-rod arm for the 10" dual-zone snare pad works loose over time under heavier rimshots or enthusiastic playing. Top fix: We swapped the pad off the rack clamp and put it on a traditional standalone snare basket stand. It completely isolates the snare vibrations from the rack, eliminates slipping, and allows for much easier height and angle adjustments. Bottom Line: An exceptional electronic drum kit that punches well above its price tag. Perfect for beginners and young drummers, easily upgraded, and quiet enough for daily home practice. Actually excellent bit of kit... I'm a pro signed guitarist (I was a drummer before anything else) and I like to play still and also record my own drums on my ideas and demos, this is perfect for it, Size': all of us adults looking at this are asking the same thing and doing the same YouTube searches.... Will it be like a kids kit on me... No... I'm 6ft and muscular built and it's nice to play, yeah it's not a full acoustic kit and yes you've gotta adjust how you play SLIGHTLY, as the pads are a little smaller than your Standard size acoustic kit, but that's the idea, it's meant to be portable and nice to store and space saving which is 100% is Ngl... I hated building it.... Wasn't fun lol.... Computer is easy to figure out without instructions (great for men lol) And I love that alesis do the add on Tom's and cymbals too, I used the extra tom with the extra crash as it does only come with x1 ride and x1 crash with hi hats and that's a no go for me... I need at least x2 crashes minimum as standard. But you've got the option to add them if you want!!! There are many different sounds of drums on the comp.. Most are totally trash but there's about 10 maybe very excellent, usable and realistic authentic sounding drums on it... You'll figure it out, there's about 40odd to go through but most are so bad you'll get through all 40 in about 6-7 mins like I did and decide your faves As an adult, a grown man beast, the size is nice and it's comfortable to use, I think it's excellent value for money too, quality is great for what you're paying for Functionality ticks all boxes for me. Does what it's designed to do lol... Yes slightly bigger pads would be nice.... But it's meant to be compact and that it is. Fits in my cupboard behind my wifes clothes collection and huge collection of high heels and boots lmao... And she even uses the kit too! So she doesn't complain about "there being a huge drum kit in the house"... Lol Try it, if it isn't for you return it for free lol no brainer

Sounds great, mesh heads are superb easy to set up and has some great extras with the module really pleased with the drums but not so pleased with the frame it only accommodates small people if you are over 5" then you may struggle to play the kit in comfort my son is tall and has to arch over the kit which he says is painful after a short time..why would you not make the frame adjustable for taller people..I have had to build a frame on the floor to raise the hight of the drum kit to fit my son who is only 5"4. Little things make a big difference. This I why it only gets 4stars shame as sound wise it's great.

I've been very impressed with the Alesis Nitro Max. Assembly was straightforward, and the kit feels surprisingly sturdy once set up. The mesh drum heads are a standout feature, providing a much more realistic playing experience compared to the rubber pads commonly found on lower-priced electronic kits. The module offers a good selection of drum sounds, and the Bluetooth connectivity is a welcome addition, making it easy to stream music and play along with songs or lessons. The included USB MIDI support also opens up plenty of options for recording and using third-party drum software. The kit is relatively compact and works well for home use, especially when paired with headphones for quieter practice sessions. While more experienced drummers may eventually want additional pads and advanced features, this set provides everything a beginner or intermediate player needs to develop their skills.

I've had this Alesis Nitro Max Kit for 3 months now and I have to say that having been a Drummer for over 20 years, this kit makes an excellent practice kit for places where noisy drums and cymbals are a no go. The sounds coming from the 'brain' module are great, there are custom kits that allow you to program the volume and effects on individual drum pads, all of which are mesh head style and respond very nicely to my conventional Pro-Mark sticks. The 'cymbals' are the old fashioned black rubber type, very similar to practice pads that have been around for years, so they're not perfect, but they are playable. One of the best things about this kit is the fact that it comes with a conventional drum pedal with a beater which hits it's own pad, (instead of just triggering air) - this is something that drummers who are used to playing a 'real' acoustic kit need in order to play the Kick drum properly. The Hi Hat pedal is the less desirable trigger pedal type and isn't connected to a moving hi hat stand, so doesn't function the same, but hey, I'm splitting hairs here! This kit is amazing for the price tag (approx EU400) and I'd recommend it to any 'traditional' drummer looking for a budget conscious electronic solution. Having read other reviews which mention the kit's plastic hardware. I would hasten to point out that this is not a heavy duty drum set and should be treated more like a MIDI instrument. It's very lightweight and might not stand up to regular gigging. I have mine set up in dry habitable space (it probably won't survive a damp garage environment like traditional kits might) And when setting it up, don't overtighten anything, give it some time and be patient and by following the instructions and using your common sense, it should set up fine and be adjustable enough to suit any drummer of any size, or age. I'm so glad I bought this kit, as I've been meaning to get a mesh head kit for years and it wasn't so long ago that they all seemed to be selling at a much higher price. Roland's V-Drums have been around a long time, but were always a little too expensive for some reason. Anyway, buy it. For musical drummers, it's a bargain.

Brilliant piece of kit. Never had a go at drumming and always wanted one. This is perfect. Takes a bit of setting up as the instructions are not very clear. One set up and made a few minor adjustments it sits perfectly. It fits nicely in the corner of the room without taking up too much space. Very easy to pick up and move if needed. Well made but make sure you tighten the bolts well. The sound through the headphones (make sure you get some decent ones with noise cancelling) is brilliant. Doesn’t annoy the neighbours. Sounds like a real set of drums even though I’ve never played a real set. Plenty of kit sounds to choose from and loads of backing tracks to jam along to. I got 90 days access to Drumeo for free and is well worth it. Daily lessons to get you going. I can really recommend this and for the price you can’t go wrong. Only problem I encountered was the high hat pedal not being responsive sometimes. Contacted the manufacturer and a new one is on its way. Great customer service.

Absolutely love this kit. I've played other electric kits before and this one simply blows them out of the water. The feel of the mesh, the proper kick, choke on the crash, simple interface on the drum module, and then to top it all off Bluetooth!!!! Would highly recommend this kit.

Drum kit great, has lot of options to play and learn. Only the down side is frame. Made with plastic and they don’t last long especially with plastic clips and arms support isn’t enough to last long. Also when pads make too much noise than the out put. While hear the music in speakers you hear the actual voice and tapping sound on of the hi hats and drums.

Je suis un débutant et je trouve le kit très bon rapport qualité prix. Points forts : facile à monter, bon son et bonne responsivité, bon prix Points faible : le rack bouge un peu (utiliser un trépied pour caisse claire améliore grandement le problème), la pédale de grosse caisse ne se règle pas en angle, la pédale de charleston n'est pas assez sensible, pad de grosse caisse un tout petit peu petit pour certaine double pédales.

Assembly was not difficult--lots of videos to help with assembly. Had to troubleshoot sensitivity of hi-hat (initially needed a lot of force to actuate) but got it dialed in (youtube helped troubleshoot, no info included with kit on how to dial in such settings). Looking forward to connecting to Logic Pro for studio work. The included kits sound great, the drum sensors are responsive, the mesh heads feel great and the choke functions well on the crash. The frame is adjustable so fit is easily adjustable. Portability while assembled might be sketchy (wouldnt want to move the whole kit without cranking down lugs). overall im happy with this purchase (good value for features and quality)
