This is the best external hard drive I've ever had. I love the fact that you can encrypt it so nobody can access my precious and private files, I can connect it to my Android phone, and is rugged, sturdy and firm. The size is a very good feature too, is very small and portable and very fast when managing files! Excelent.

Owned the Samsung T9 Portable SSD 4TB for over two years now, snagging it for around $250 at the time, and it has been worth every penny. In fact, I like it so much that I ended up getting a second one. Performance & Speed This drive is incredibly fast. Transfer speeds will naturally depend on your laptop's specs and port capabilities, but when paired with a solid system and the included USB-C cable, file offloads and data passes work flawlessly. I stepped up to this from my older T7 model, and the performance bump is noticeable. It dumps large files rapidly without dropping connections or lagging. Build Quality & Protection The outer rubberized padding makes it ideal for field work and mobile setups. It provides great drop protection and peace of mind when throwing it in a gear bag. Despite the protective casing, it maintains a fantastic lightweight profile, solid portability, and mounts easily onto rigs or workspaces. This has been a helpful buy as I shoot in RAW I my SONY Alpha AR-7 and want to edit photos before printing and uploading to my website. It's easy to transfer the images from my Lexar Professional CFexpress Type A / SD USB 3.2 Gen 2 Reader to this SSD and I can then edit in Photoshop directly from the SSD, saving my MacBook Pro hard drive. Connectivity is solid. The device fits in my camera bag, too, which is extremely helpful and feels quite durable even though it's not heavy. It operates quietly and I don't recall it getting very hot. It's a great product that does what it's supposed to.

Nothing fancy, but easy to use and works just fine. The storage is as advertised and it is easy to carry about as needed. I haven't had any issues with data loss and haven't had trouble using it or with the formatting. I mainly store game files on it so it mainly lives on my desktop, but I've taken it through the airport easily enough so it is versatile too. Overall it is what it claims to be.

First of all, I'm kinda blown away by the size of this drive. I have many WD Passport drives, and this thing is about a third of the volume of those. How convenient. And it has a regular USB-C type Thunderbolt cable, which is nice for my MacBook Pro M3 Max with three Thunderbolt ports. I had a major problem with my Passport drives yesterday while they were testing around 85 MB/s while I was trying to edit multi camera videos in Final Cut Pro...the main display was extremely laggy, and the only solution was to turn off the camera angles in the viewer, but even after awhile that didn't work. When I finally pulled out the Blackmagic drive test tool, I learned that they were getting nowhere near the speed they should. I had a problem connecting this to my Mac...it kept failing the erase function with the Disk Utility, so I had to call Samsung. We figured out that when I connected the drive, it asked if it was okay "to connect this accessory." I said yes. All applications were closed. But apparently the computer thought that this process was still running, and it failed the reformat. The solution was to FORCE EJECT THE DRIVE, THEN RECONNECT IT. It did not ask the same question, and it reformatted just fine. However, the drive is not running at the full 2,000 MB/s speed, and the knowledgable agent was able to tell me why. My MacBook is a fairly new model, but it doesn't have the "USB 3.2 Gen 2x2" type port necessary to get that speed...it only has the USB 3.1 Bus. So I'm getting about 900 MB/s. Still a vast improvement over my 85 MB/s speed from yesterday, so I'll keep the drive, which will be able to grow with my needs. I don't know if the 1050 MB/s version of this drive would give the same speed, since it's a limitation of my port, but it might save someone a little money knowing that. If you don't have the 3.2 USB Gen 2x2 port on your computer, you could just get the less expensive one. Anyway, nice little drive. Very sexy. Hopefully I don't lose it because it's so small!
