One Year Later and Iโm Still in Love with This Knife!!
Update: After a little over a year of daily use as my EDC, this has easily become my favorite folding knife I have ever owned. The edge has stayed sharp and true through consistent everyday tasks, and the action is still just as smooth and satisfying as the day I bought it. Thereโs very little visible wear, even after what must be thousands of pocket draws, tosses into my valet tray, and countless uses. The black finish has worn slightly, exactly what I expected, but itโs aged beautifully. The pocket clip still holds firm, and all the mechanical functions, including the button, lock, and pivot, work flawlessly. Thereโs zero play or misalignment in the blade, and it remains perfectly centered when closed, which says a lot about its build quality. As a lefty, I was initially concerned about the right-hand-oriented design, but the ergonomics are so well executed that I can still operate it one-handed with ease. Civivi absolutely nailed the craftsmanship and reliability on this one. Iโll definitely be adding more Civivi blades to my collection since theyโve earned my trust. Original: Got mine yesterday, came quick. So far a great knife, I love the opening functions, it's smooth, the scales feel great, not to heavy but not to light. The button lock feature is my favorite thing. This is the sharpest out of box knife I've ever got. Shaves hair with no effort. Looks great to! Will definitely buy from this manufacturer again, as long as this one holds up.

The one I carry most often, of all of my Civivi knives
Civivi has a dizzying catalog of folding knives out on the market. And so many of them are honestly fantastic. This one is probably one of their best all-around button locks, though. Something about the balancing and grip is just so nice. A tanto folder this nice is an absolute steal. Pop one of their heat-ano titanium clips and you have an attractive, well-handling, and well-performing pocket knife. Collectors will put a lot of these in a "budget" class, but there's nothing cheap about how any of them are made. They may not be as extravagant in design features, steel, or materials, but all of the materials they select are the best quality they can be, and are exquisitely well-assembled into elegantly simple, well-performing folding knives that look as good as they feel in hand. Every detail is perfectly-executed with truly premium fit and finish, inside and out. You can't get the staples much more right than this. Civivi is putting everyone to shame with knives like these. I'll say this: plunger/detent style button lock may not be the absolute strongest or coolest locking mechanism out there, but they have plenty of strength for a true 'everyday' knife. It's not a survival knife, but the kind you carry in civilized settings, bring this one with you on any average day out. It's lightweight for its size, has perfect ambidexterous-one-handed operation, looks nice, and will handle all of your typical cutting tasks well. Take it out on the boat even! I've jumped in the ocean with this many times and it still looks and works like new. Civivi has maybe the best button lock I've ever used. The tolerances make them perfectly smooth out of the box - the button travels, grabs, and releases smoothly, never needing adjustment. And because they're so snugly squared-up, they don't gunk or grind, ain't gonna be eating your pocket lint or collecting moisture.. They feel so good to flick open and closed with good ceramic bearings in them. That bearing lets you know it's med-duty at most - you trade a little bit of durability there for a lot of comfort with good ball-bearings like these. Fidget factor is fantastic. Both the thumb and finger tabs have an easy, but solid flick. Every bit as nice as flinging with the button. Always gliding along on that bearing. If you've never had a Civivi flicker before, you've gotta try it. They have it down to a science. I have over a dozen different knives from them, with different locks and forms/layouts. But they all have that same addictingly solid, smooth, and consistent flick to them. This model in particular feels very good in the hand. Civivi has a few different takes on G10. Some of them are more textured with flat/angular bevels, whereas this one has a smoother, more rounded feel. It's got this sculpted quality to it - classy, yet rugged. There's just enough texture for grip, minimal by G10 standards. Sometimes on inexpensive knives, the G10 just feels and looks so cheap - not so here. It's like premium G10. The 'natural' semi-translucent blue is ice-cold with the "fogout" sandblasting on the blade. And Civivi's aftermarket deep blue titanium clip sets off the look perfectly. It's one of those things that lets you know its quality, even at a glance. Blade shapes and cutting geometries are preference I suppose, but this is a great tanto. The steel seems unassuming, since 14C28N has become sort of a staple. It's a lower carbon, higher nitrogen steel with that can get fine, tight grains, really good corrosion resistance, very high toughness, and lets say average* edge retention. [*A lot of 14C28N knives out there have inferior heat treating and lose their edges and pitch easily. But with a good heat treat, it's slightly above average in hardness and edge retention.] This thing holds its edge spooky well, definitely on the harder side of what this steel can be with heat-treating. It gets very sharp and stays sharp, with no galling or chipping. And as a bonus, it's very lightweight. The grind and sandblasted finish are also beautiful. Whatever Civivi is doing with their 14C28N, it is really a cut above. They know their high-nitro, it seems. Good steel, well-formed blades. And the edge gets so SHINY. Seriously, man. If you want a good tanto-style folding knife with great action and a blade that gets extremely sharp but won't chip away or corrode, look no further. You'll spend at least double the money before they even begin to get better than this.

Great knife!
I love the one-handed flipper opening and the gravity closing by pushing the button. It is extremely sharp out of the box. Shaves hair no problem. The case and cleaning cloth it comes with makes it even better. I am a bit of a knife junkie and have another Civivi that is just as good as this one. I keep this one close for emergencies. It is inexpensive enough to where I will use it to open my Amazon boxes and be willing to resharpen as required. They never seem to be as quite as sharp as new even after resharpening. I will be buying this brand of knives again when I want another beater.

Good knife
Very sharp. I can shave hair off my arms with it. The thump stud is annoying so I removed it. The pocket clip is also annoying so I removed that too. Now it feels great in the hand. Flip open with ease. The only issue I haven't fixed yet is the screws loosen just enough to create a bit of a rattle. It doesn't, as of now, cause a failure or performance issue. It's just a little annoying.

HOLY SHUT!!!
Dude. Now I get all the hype. This is a bitchin blade. I collect knives, I have extremely expensive ones, but the ones that impress me the most are the ones that are under $100 like this one. I love the button lock, the flipper, the low pro clip, and the overall feel of the knife. What a great company. I now plan on purchasing a couple more models. Great job Civivi.

Great product
Great quality knife. Super sharp out of the box. Comfortable grip with a good pocket clip that doesnt loosen over time like a lot of them. Very good value for the price.

Nice fit and finish
This was my first knife of this brand. I had always held off buying one because I thought they were a little pricier than I normally purchase but I am happy with the quality, and i'm especially happy with the button lock which is easier to operate than a liner lock.
