Definitely not! I mean, it’s not silent, but one of the reasons I bought these is because several people said they were the quietest they’d tried, and I agree that it seems very reasonable in loudness. I am VERY happy with these!

Can the Lithium Ion batteries be replaced if they no longer hold a charge. If yes, what size and where can we purchase them? Thank you

I doubt that would happen. I've used mine daily for over a month, and haven't even had to charge them yet

Do we have to clean before use and how?

No need to clean. These units are terrific.

How coarse is the pepper at the "largest" setting? One of the reviews stated that even at the coarsest setting the pepper comes out fine.

Honestly at any setting seems to be the same size but we like it
