Spin Doctor Tile Leveling System 1 by 16Th", 1.5mm- 1 Box of 250 Piece

We lay tile professionally and we have tried Rubi and Rigid's version of this 1/16 clip. In my opinion, these are a middle ground between the two companies. Ridgid's are more brittle, but Rubi's are so strong that sometimes they are hard to bust off the next day. These are a great middle ground. They are strong, but easy to snap off when needed. We definitely recommend and will continue to use them!

These are great tile spacers, just be careful with the 1/16 version as they can be broken off easily during the install process. Overall they are super easy to use if you already have the spin caps.

This review is really for the whole system; the caps, the spacers, and for me the round disks to protect the tile. I purchased those 3 products separately. I had never used this system before. The results was great. The key here to avoid problems is; following the manufacturers instructions!! They have videos on their website. I read reviews where people had the spacers break off while tightening them. People couldn't get the red cap and spacer to break off afterwards. I put in a natural stone backsplash, about 21 sq ft, and had none of those problems. The one point I will say to watch out for; if you don't complete the job in one day, that's where you could have problems, when you pick up where you left off. Before you stop for the day, make sure you have spacers along the unfinished edges. Once the mortar hardens, you can't put in spacers the next day. Make sure you don't leave grout sticking out from where you left off. Make sure there isn't grout on the one edge of the bottom of the spacer that still shows. In general, try to finish the job in one day if you can. If I had to pick the biggest negative, it would be the cost. The components that I bought, just for a 21 sq ft backsplash, cost about $125. But I feel like the finished product was worth it.

Tile guys. This brand is the only one to use. Its makes tile leveling better. AND the removal is easier than other brand. Its just kick and go. I highly recommend!

I think this is the best system out there. But, MAKE SURE NO MASTIC GETS BETWEEN THE TILES. I have about 15% that broke like this rather than from under the tile. Using a screwdriver and mallet didn’t get them out. It only broke off what was sticking up. I’ll need to get a grout filing tool to trying to get them filed down so I can grout. Another day or two added to my project. EDIT: I’ve found the best way to avoid the issue in the photograph attached: (after the thinset has dried) 1. Tighten the red cage as much as you can. The spacer might break free at this point. 2. If not, tap the red cage on its side with a rubber mallet. It should break free in whole. 3. If it breaks leaving the spacer sticking up, use vice grips to clamp on to the piece and pull straight up. Do not pry or pull at an angle. It will break free. 4. If it doesn’t or the piece is too small to use vice grips, you’ll need to use a grout saw to file it down. This can take awhile but will work.

These are easy to use, the only pain is having to spin off the stem before you use them again. I have used other products, but these snap clean in removal. You just have to give them a kick or a tap with a hammer. Once in a while a small piece is left in, but can be removed with a putty knife or utility knife.
