What is the difference between the original and old fashioned oats?

Quality wise there is no difference, but the old fashioned is a rougher oat.

why are they sow dear when i paid 1 pound a box

I assume it's because this is a British product and there will be freight and importation fees charged; we live in Oklahoma USA. We are Scots who are willing to pay to get the real porridge oats that we enjoy. Where did you pay £1 a box?
