Essential Oils: Ancient Medicine

I LOVE this book! This book is wayyy better than I was expecting. It's huge! I use this book constantly. Its packed with holistic remedies for all types of illnesses or health conditions. I appreciate the organization of the book and how detail it is. The book helps explain the differences and usages of all the essential oils. Best practices for them and recipes in the back. I also bought a book for my sister to help her understand essential oils. The book helps explain it soooo well. It can be overwhelming to know what does what, how many drops for this or that - oral, topical etc.. this book has you covered. I would highly recommend this for anyone who loves essential oils!

Purchased as a gift for soap and lotion bars it is easy to read.

I was new to oils, and I didn’t get into them through a MLM company, so I needed a deep dive into the what, why and how of essential oils. This book delivers! The quality of the book is wonderful...it’s a paperback made with quality heavy paper and good binding, so it will lay almost flat while you are reading. Part II is where individual oils are described with 3 pages devoted to the history of the oil, where it comes from, research studies, key benefits, safety, and the top seven uses of that oil. Part III is devoted to conditions that oils can be used to alleviate. Part IV is special uses of oils in pet care, pregnancy, skin care, cleaning etc., and Part V is recipes - food, cleaning products, health products like cough syrup, lip balm, shampoo and toothpaste. I specifically skipped Part I to review last...Part I is called ‘Foundations’ and while it is good for some ancient history of oils and their uses in pre-modern times in countries with ancient histories, it is written with a biblical view, though not overwhelming so. I am not a believer myself, and I likely would return this book IF the religious bent was from cover to cover; however, I was not put off, and in a 500+ page book, the smattering of religious views dropped in the first 50 or so pages did not keep me from moving on through the book to get to the really, really good stuff! You can’t really go wrong with this one.

This is an excellent book to learn from. It’s handy to purchase different ones on Essential Oils. It helps to get more insight and get a good feel for using the oils

I'm not all the way through the book, but the only reason I'm giving it a 4 star is that the Kindle version doesn't format right on my iphone. Have to go to my computer and pull it up if I don't understand what I'm reading because breaks and paragraphs are off making the text confusing. I joined the EOT institute and have a pdf version which I like better; however, the chapters don't hyperlink in the pdf, whereas, the kindle version does and makes it easier to navigate. I like what i've been reading. One of the negative reviews discussed ingesting essential oils. The book clearly points out when it's appropriate and also discusses in Chapter 5, starting with page 81 about ingesting oils. Before you jump into the specifics of each oil, you SHOULD read the first 5 chapters of this book. I know it's hard to not want to jump right in, but understand what you're getting yourself into first before you start purchasing your oils! In the end, I would give this a 4 1/2 star if it would let me.

BUY IT! You will not be disappointed, high quality, best book on essential oils and purposes you’ll ever find. I have numerous books on oils I could toss them all and only have this one, uses, healing facts, up to date clinical facts, past discoveries, numerous facts on all oils, recipes, dog uses… it is endless in a glossy pages (great for oily hand lol) beautifully put together book. 5 stars does not do it justice. Every word is useful, none of that rambling…

Amazing resource! It starts with introductions of the 3 authors, which was intriguing. I appreciate the history of EOs and guidance in finding reputable oils. The breakdown is great, everything is easy to follow and laid out well. I'm so glad that I got this book. The hard cover and spiral binding make it even better!

Excellent book! I recommend it to anyone who is into herbs and natural remedies. The book is comprehensive and accurate, very well structured and covers lots of aspects of using essential oils safely. Very easy to read and to access information, I particularly liked the chapter about the different oils and their benefits and the recipes recommended at the end of the book. Very practical. It's all you need to start using essential oils safely and efficiently. Dr. Axe and his team always provide accurate information and I often go to his website for further information. The book has high quality images and paper, overall stylish design. The price is very good considering the high quality paper and the number of pages. I highly recommend it!

Interesting and copmrehensive book about essential oils. It covers many oils and gives a lot of information. It is a good purchase!
