Usual quality from Flexcut which really are "last a lifetime" tools if looked after properly. Review: The gouge is razor sharp out of the package. The gouge is very comfortable. The palm style works very well and the handle contours are perfect. I did wrap a bit of padding on the upper part of the shaft just below the handle. There is the slightest flex in the shaft, it really seems to enhance performance. Great product, does exactly as advertised, but better than that, it functions exactly like I need for it to. I will likely purchase a smaller one as well. Its perfect for the smalls that I usually carve.

I like the entire flexcut line as a carver for over 20 years, the quality is great!

Flexcut tools are excellent. What else can I say. I'm a novice wood carver and I am trying different tools as I go. I have a modified plexiglass cutter, I fashion into a very ergonomic kiridashi. It works beautifully. I also have some other assorted lesser dollar knives as well as a couple at a more moderate price. All that being said, the Flexcut tools I've used are genuinely worth the cost, as they are beautiful in form and function. You really must get a tool in your hands to estimate it's value. Buy this. You could do far worse things with $25.
