Ok, so I bought this to record a saxophone on some live presentations, but the first thing I tried this on was on a double bass yesterday at a live jazz concert and the recording sounds awesome. Just something to have in mind, it is a condenser mic and it captures a lot of ambience, so the track on this one came out with a lot of cymbals' bleed from the drumkit (this is not an issue, it is just something important to know). I recommend this mic 100% for the price.

A friend of mine was selling an Audio Technica mics for double bass and wanted £200. They sounded great but thought I'd look around.....I found his Behringer CB100 for £25 so thought it was worth a punt, and the result is stunning! Honestly this sounds like a very high quality mic capsule and when blended with a magnetic pickup is perfect for recording. The only down side is that it does not include a clamp for the goose-neck so I used cable tied to hold it to the bridge. I found the the foam surrounding the capsule vibrated at first but moving it around in the plastic rings soon stopped any movement. Recommended for any accoustic bass players looking to amplify and keep their natural tone.
