Great reference for making garb for our local Renaissance Festival.

I like anything about the Medieval Period, and Costumes, Clothing, fabrics etc. it’s a wonderful resource.

COSTUMES
Good for addressing the different styles from peasant to court. Will help some when making costumes for Children, but must do a little more research to determine dress in the 1200's.

Womens clothing poorly represented
Black and white on newsprint-type paper. I would have had better luck at the Library.

Awesome and informative!!!
This book has several medieval costume illustrated and wonderful descriptions too! Patterns seem easily replicated and has everything from clothing to accessories.

No seam allows included with patterns
The book is extremely informative. The issue my wife has with doing the patterns is that no information was given on seam allowances. Says to copy pattern, but doesn't have the seam allowance information.

La création de costumes médiévaux à la portée de tous...
... enfin presque, il faut juste accepter de sortir des clichés issus des films hollywoodiens et bannir les tissus synthétiques. Il faut tout de même connaître les bases de la couture, mais ce préalable étant posé, il sera facile de recréer des costumes féminins et masculins, des différentes classes sociales.
