Citric Acid to Clean Zojirushi Hot Water Boiler
Review of Viva Doris 2 lb citric acid. Item is fine grade and dissolves easily with warm water and use as intended did produce good results. My first time using Citric Acid to decalcify a Zojirushi hot water boiler that a friend gave me after about 2-3 years of use, the original owner never descaled his boiler throughout the 2-3 years, the build up in the inner lining was significant, the removable filter was completely encased and no water could pass through the filter. Went through the cleaning process (Zojirushi online video) and used an equivalent amount of citric acid (1 ounce/30 grams) two times. First attempt cleaning some improvement, second attempt and let continuous warm overnight and some noticeable improvement, remember the build up in the liner was significant and you could hardly see the printed water demarcations inside the pot. I read online that couple companies recommend 1 ounce per each liter, so my third time I used 3 ounces for about 3.5 liters of water (Zojirushi customer service said more citric acid could cause boil over, I did not have that experience but check the cleaning process as you don’t want to have it boil over….). major improvement and I may have to process another cleaning cycle. As for this brand of citric acid, it does dissolve quickly (anhydrous) and has cleaned my inner lining…however, you should consider using bottled water in the boiler to avoid tap hard water calcium buildup and consider a regular cleaning As I mentioned earlier, my metal filter was completely encased with build up and water would not pass through when pressing “dispense”. I cleaned the metal filter prior to cleaning the inner liner. Method for cleaning the filter was to soak the filter in lime away until you see a change (soft gel like consistency, clean and re-soak), took 4 days of this process… could buy from Zojirushi for about $10, but the lime away did the trick, and like new. But I hope you don’t let you boiler get to this state, when descaling, pay attention as you are with very hot water.

Affordable and good quality
This can be added to water softener salt tank or brine well to help with iron. Either sprinkle over salt pellets in layers or dissolve in warm water and pout into brine well before a regeneration cycle. For this purpose, one bag lasts at least 3 months.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ My Opal ice machine got the spa treatment it deserved 😂❄️
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ My Opal ice machine got the spa treatment it deserved 😂❄️ I picked up this Viva Doria 100% pure citric acid to clean and descale my GE Opal ice maker, and let me tell you — it worked wonders. After a few cycles with the citric acid solution, the ice maker went from “mysterious build-up city” to sparkling clean, and the ice coming out tastes noticeably fresher (no weird mineral funk). (amazon.com) The fine grain dissolves easily — no stubborn clumps, no questionable leftovers — and it’s food-grade so I felt comfortable cleaning where my ice touches water. A tablespoon or two in a cleaning cycle and my Opal basically got a reset button. ⚙️💧 Whether you’re tackling scale, lingering tastes, or just giving your ice maker some TLC, this citric acid is simple to use and super effective. Now every glass feels like it came straight from a glacier (but refrigerated and way less dramatic).

Clean your espresso machine for pennies!
Excellent product! Used to make various diy cleaning products. Especially espresso machine cleaner, use 20g per liter, costs about 25¢ per use instead of the $3.50 per use of the commercially sold cleaners. Also works great in diy dishwasher powder, and if you’re a film photographer like me it is a perfect stop bath!

Tired of that smelly washing machine?
I obtained this for cleaning an otherwise-smelly washing machine. It does help remove gunk and gorp from thehidden areas siutch as the bottom and outside of the drum, if used appropriately with extra amounts of hot water. It seems to help clean the hidden parts of the washing machine, but our machine automatically activates the drain pump when the level is to high, so it's necessary to unplug the power cord to overfill with hot water. The cleaning effort is a deterrent that encourages procrastination. I've obtained some little pods that promise to clean as well, but have yet to use them in a comparison test. Meanwhile, yes, it does clean a top load washing machine if you can soak it high on the drum.

Wow This Stuff Works!!
So I was doing research on how to clean the toilet tank and one way is to use this product. Took a cup and sprinkled it throughout the tank (not touching any components) and let it sit for 2 hours. I suggest to get the harder stains off to leave it for longer or overnight (which I tend to do next time). What a difference it makes!! Easier to get limestone and buildup off the tank when using a pumice stone, no odd smell afterwards and now my toilet bowl doesn’t get dirty as often as before. It’s like it’s magic.

Excellent quality citric acid
I’m very happy with this citric acid. The quality is excellent: fine grain and truly food-grade. I’ve used it for descaling my humidifier. It works exactly as expected. The large 2 lb bag is a great value and will last a long time. I will definitely repurchase and recommend Viva Doria to anyone looking for high-quality citric acid for home or kitchen use.

Laundry booster
Citric acid is amazing as a laundry stain remover and anti- yellowing product. Requires soaking in a bucket or tub, but great results with H2O2 cleaners and detergent.

An unexpectedly brilliant product - usually used for food purposes, but in this case, for de-rusting underused hand tools. It has to be combined with another packeted product, but - amazing results.

It replaces fabric softener. Completely brightens the fabric and totally helps rinse out the detergent (plus helps get the stank out of human made fibres) I use two TBSP to about 100 ml warm water, mixed well, and put in the softener dispenser. TRY IT
