Classic.
A classic album from an often overlooked talent. Every song is a keeper. No filler here. Underrated like the artist himself. Donโt hesitate. Buy this one. And then buy the rest. You wonโt regret it.

The Seed Has Been Planted!
4 1/2 star = Minor Masterpiece How many people do you know that turned down the lead singer position for Led Zeppelin? Terry Reid did, then suggested Robert Plant. How many people do you know that turned down the singing position for Deep Purple? Terry Reid did, hence Ian Gillan. I've heard the name Terry Reid since the 70's, but never really took any interest in him, until, that is, I saw the movie, "The Devils Rejects!" Terry had three songs on this film from his 1976 release, "Seed of Memory." The title song, "Seed of Memory," "Brave Awaking," & "To be Treated Right," these songs hitting me with a deep down southern acoustic feel. As if Terry was strumming his guitar to Alligators & Water Moccasins, & singing with the frogs in the moonlit swamp. I could of swore this guy was from the deep south, but no, he is as English as fish & chips! "Seeds of Memory" is an eclectic, part acoustic, part electric album, that jumps genres like a frog hunting a juicy bug on a lily pad pond. It's a mellow album, easy on the mind & ears, but songs like "To be Treated Right," "Seed of Memory" & "Brave Awaking," carry weight in their lyrical subject matter & melodies which stick in my muse. This is a perfect album to listen to next to the campfire in the moonlit woods on a warm summer's night!

Excellent well sung and produced album.
This 1976 release is of a very high standard indeed. Three long years after his excellent "River" album - also much recommended - this is of a different feel. The writing is of a high standard throughout as is the playing, but it's Terry's voice that makes it, a voice of such character and warmth that one can never understand why he was never a huge star. Graham Nash, an old pal from Terry's 'Jaywalking' days in England is in the producers chair, and a very good job he does. Graham is also a consummate harmony singer and this quality is found throughout the album. The feel of the album is happy and relaxed, no doubt due to the presence of Graham Nash. The songs all written by Terry are all of a high standard, perhaps his most assured and consistent album in his career. Highly recommended as is "River".

Fantastic... In my opinion
I'd never heard of Terry Reid before watching Rob Zombie's movie "The Devil's Rejects". The background scores were so well chosen that I didn't hesitate go order the soundtrack immediately. That's where I discovered Terry Reid. The cuts represented on the soundtrack so reminded me of some of my favorite artists of late '60s/Woodstock era. I wasn't surprised to find that "Seed of Memory" was produced by Graham Nash. Being able to sample other tracks from "Seed" and other collections is among the best features of Amazon.com. Learing a bit more about the artist was a bonus. I continue to enjoy this CD, and recommend it to anyone who enjoys music from that era.

True Artistry!
Terry Reid isn't as well known as some other artists. That is not because of lack of talent. This is one of the great hidden gems of classic rock. I must own for any classic rock connoisseur.
