Once you get the two sided tape in place, take your time to make sure the tape meets the plastic with little or no wrinkles. Although it doesn't say to do this on the instructions, take a blow dryer with high heat to ensure that the plastic is sealed on to the tape. This heat will also remove wrinkles. Once it place, the plastic acts as a barrier from the cold air getting into house.

The box says nothing about using a hair dryer to shrink the plastic. It says to stretch the plastic as you install it, which makes no sense. I used it today and can confirm that is the normal shrink stuff. It works very well!

I used this most of the year in 2021. I bough the big sheet because the windows in 170 year old house have a range of different sizes. It was the least expensive option. It was cumbersome to cut. Adhesive worked on most of the time. If it is used for a large window it would be perfect.

If you’re wondering if this looks tacky, yes it does. It does seem to help with drafts but looks terrible, I’m embarrassed to keep this on my window.

The simple task of putting up plastic on your windows in winter really does stop cold drafts and retain valuable heat. But this product’s two-sided sticky tape is hard to work with and doesn’t adhere adequately. Seems like an obvious thing that the manufacturer should get right, no?
