Legacy of the Master

If you have read his other books, done some training, then you will think that you know the information in this book. Not so. This is so useful informative and as always with Dr Bandler fun inspiring and brilliant.

Should be an interesting read. Bandler knows his stuff. An absolute bargain at £4.90. How could I say no? Richard Bandler is the absolute best with NLP and the best person to learn from.

First off, I am a board-certified hypnotherapist, a certified hypnosis instructor, a certified practitioner of Ericksonian hypnosis, and a certified NLP Practitioner through a Bandler-certified school. I have been in practice for 23 years, and have personally worked with thousands of clients. I tell you this, only in the hope that it lends some weight to my review. Einstein once famously said, "We cannot solve our problems with the same thinking we used when we created them." Unfortunately, far too many therapists work with their clients at the same level of thought responsible for creating the client's problems in the first place. Such has never been the case for Dr. Richard Bandler. NLP, itself, is nothing if not a pure demonstration of 'higher level thinking'. I really cannot express enough my delight in reading this book. If there is one thing I am fanatical about in my own life it's helping my clients actualize their potential to live more joyful and meaningful lives. This book is a literal goldmine from that perspective. Within its pages, you have the opportunity to internalize the principles and approaches that Dr. Bandler has been using to transform lives for over half a century. With a refreshing candor that cuts through the overly-intellectualized nonsense that so heavily infects the field of modern psychotherapy, Dr. Bandler invites you to enter into his thought processes when assessing and working with his clients. Whenever I read a book on therapy, I automatically pose an implicit question in the background of my mind: "Would these ideas actually work with a real client?" I have enough professional experience to reasonably guage such probabilities. What I have found so amazing in this book is how simultaneously elegant AND practical Dr. Bandler's solutions are to client issues. For example, early-on in the book he points out how insomniacs often have a rapid internal dialogue as they attempt to force themselves to sleep. His solution? Have the client radically slow down that dialogue and give it a drowsy tone. Before even trying this with my own clients, I can tell you, this solution is highly likely to work, if installed properly. As the editor states quite clearly in the introduction to the book, this is not a text for neophytes. However, if you are an experienced professional who is truly dedicated to helping your clients lead happier and more functional lives, then this book is worth more than its weight in gold.

This book is overpriced. This book is a collection of transcripts of interviews without any structure. It's problematic that the book included treatments of "some common stress disorders" which are anecdotal evidence rather than rigorous scientific or clinically proven techniques or methodology. The book costed > $50, I would expect professional formatting and editing. This book looks like it's pasted together in MS words during a weekend.

Do yourself a favor, read this book. Dr. Bandler is one of the greatest thinkers of our time!

Richard talks about the way he helps his clients become free from their problems so they can create a better future. He goes through a whole list of clients with different problems, explaining what he did to help them change. - There are even QR codes that take you to videos of Richard explaining his insights.
