**My reveiw after 11 months of use** I modded my ROG ally as 512gb just cant hold many modern games and my SD card port got toasted. The install was a piece of cake if you have any confidence inside electronic devices. I used this to Install a 4Tb 2280 card and has worked flawlessly after almost a year in close to daily use. I only had one small issue were it had come loose after traveling in my bag all day, but I just opened it up and reseated the card and all has been fine since then. would recommend 100%. this has made my ally so much better having all this space. do yourself a favor and do this mod, it makes all the difference In the world

It had fallen out of the bag, but install was fine, it sits on top of the ribbon cable but there is nothing to cause a short or anything. you will need to bend your ssd just slightly to get it to fit, dont be afraid, it wont hurt it. you will not use a second screw on this, just the original hd screw back in the original hole. reinstall reboots about 500 times and takes a few hours, you have to interact with it once or twice. overall great purchase, glad I chose this one.

A perfect solution to use a more price friendly NVMe on the ROG Ally, it makes the regular 2280 NVMe fitting into a 2230 slot of the ROG Ally, I do recommend however, getting some kind of thermal insulator to insulate the SSD from the heat pipe of the CPU, to keep the longevity Of your SSD, because after install the SSD will hover right over the heat pipes, this can cause it to heat up drastically, that’s how the micro SD card slot stopped working in the first place.

Look - this is 10 bucks. Does the adapter work in practice? Yes. BUT... The very important thing is, it fails miserably at one very important aspect, which is how you're supposed to secure your brand new NVMe drive to this adapter. It comes with a tiny bolt and a brass fitting for tightening your NVMe to the adapter, but - how do you actually tighten the bolt or the brass fitting from above - is the impossible question that my brain can't come up with a solution, because the silver bolt is not part of the board and spins freely. What a horrible design! Plus, as other customers mentioned, the electric discharge safe envelope this is supposed to come in was never sealed from of the factory, which means when you receive yours, it will be dislodged and out of the plastic envelope altogether. When I pulled the packaging pout of the Amazon bag, the envelope was empty. I thought I had been scammed. This is a joke. Too many fails with this one. I just purchased a similar model that allows for tightening the bolt from above for just 1 dollar more than this one. It comes with 2 silver bolts, plus a screwdriver. Nice, eh! Steer clear from this one.

Part came with that electric resistant plastic, but within the whole package the part fell out. Company needs to seal it with tape or similar. Part itself works as intended, no issues installing, might need to give it a little bend to make it fit with NVMe.

I ordered this and it seems whoever does the packaging can't even bother to tape the bag shut so that the item doesn't fall out during delivery. First delivery failed and second delivery had the item outside of its envelope at the bottom of the box (out could have easily been damaged) However it works.. installed it and had no issues with it fitting inside the ally

I bought this to stuff a 4TB SSD into my Asus ally handheld gaming machine, which ships with a 512gb hard drive (we all know that is not gonna cut it for gamers) Its been 8 months - no issues

Works really well for my ROG Ally. Fits easily and was super quick to install. It allowed me to put in a much less expensive and higher capacity SSD. Worked as soon as I plugged it in and powered it on. No notes. It just works

It fits great and looks like an OEM install. I inserted my 2280 2TB stick, and the shell closed up perfectly. After restoring the OS, I tested it for an extensive period and it works like a charm (and I experienced no overheating).

Funcionó, tampoco es que sea gran cuenta. Encaja perfectamente en la Ally.

Fit well. Had to loosen the battery to slot it in and it has a sort of clip instead of a screw to hold the new NVME on. Aside from that, it works perfectly and now I have 4TB on my ROG ally instead of the pathetic 512GB😆 I like that the PCB of this one is black instead of green. It makes it look much more stock and clean than the green ones out there
