I have a condition that sometimes restricts what I can eat, and these rice packets are just right when I need something quick - 90 seconds from microwave to plate. The taste is better than I expected and the texture is really good for something microwaved - not mushy. If you're looking for traditional sticky rice to accompany an Asian dish, there are better options, but these packets are a quick fix to go with just about anything. If I served this to a guest, I'm betting they would never think this was from a microwave packet. Update 02/15/23 All packages we buy are good now. As long as they’re not tight. The family size packs form Thailand are tight and can’t be broken up. This is a sign they’re no good. I have found that if you can easily squeeze the package arrives and break it up then it’s probably going to taste good. ***08/08/22** So packages from the UK also taste terrible. The ONLY normal tasting packages of the jasmine rice (that’s the only kind we buy) come from CANADA. shipping issues causing the rice packages to go bad? Any of these packages been sitting on shipping containers for ungodly amounts of time? There is something disgusting about the packages coming from overseas and I truly believe it’s the shipping issues! Do not consume**** ***now local stores seem to be only carrying packages from Thailand and they’re all the same. Tight packaging that’s tough to squeeze, and awful taste. WHAT IS GOING ON!? I emailed Bens Original and they were ZERO help. ** I’ve ordered Bens jasmine rice before with no issue. The last time though, the package said “made in Thailand” and it tasted disgusting!! Bland, and nothing like others that say “made in Canada”. Just AWFUL! And odd since jasmine is Thai, yet the ones made in Thailand were terrible. I’ll never buy on Amazon again, I’ll buy in store and check where it’s made.
