Great Tool at a Great Price!
I bought this tool to run some Cat6 Ethernet lines for my home office, and honestly, I don't see why a DIYer would spend double on the big-name brands (like Klein) when this does the job perfectly. Here is the breakdown after crimping about 50 ends: The Good: Pass-Through is a Game Changer: If you aren't a pro doing this every day, getting the wires in the right order can be a headache. This tool works with "Pass-Through" connectors (where the wires poke out the front), and it trims them flush automatically when you crimp. It makes it nearly impossible to mess up the color order. Solid Build: It doesn't feel like a cheap plastic toy. It has a heavy steel frame and a smooth ratcheting action. Consistent: Every crimp I made tested perfect on my network tester. No loose pins. The One Thing to Watch Out (Read this!): The Stripper: The built-in cable stripper is very sharp. If you clamp down fully, you will nick the copper wires inside the cable. Fix: Practice on a scrap piece of wire first. You only need to rotate the tool once with very light pressure to score the jacket, then snap it off. Once you get the "feel" for it, it works great. Bottom Line: If you are an IT professional crimping 100 cables a day, maybe buy the ergonomic cushioned ones. But for wiring a house or making patch cables? Save your money and get this. It’s the best value out there.

Perfect terminations!
Really good crimper from a very reputable brand that is actually affordable. It comes with some additional blades and really good instructions on making adjustments for different types of connectors. Makes quick work of any connector and haven't had any issues with terminations. If you want something cheap and reliable without the headache of bootleg brands then go with this!

Works great with pass-through connectors!
I had a non-passthrough crimper, and it...kind of worked on passthroughs. But I often could not trim the wires close enough for the connector to fit in the plug securely. I saw where someone was using an xacto knife to trim, but that looked like it would be easy to slip. This crimper works great! Even the wire stripping works better than my old one, which would often nick one of the cables, so then I'd have to start again. It's compact, easy to use, easy to apply enough pressure to get a good crimp. Makes terminating cables much quicker, and they work every time.

A great improvement in crimping RJ connectors
This tool gives you a more exact line up of the wire, as you can see the colored wires sticking out, making it easy to see the correct color placement. It also eliminates miss seeing 2 wires in 1 hole. I've been crimping RJ connectors for over 20 years and this is the best type of crimper to make for sure ethernet connections.

Good Yet Flawed
Tool was extremely frustrating at first use as it regardes crimping pass-through RJ-45 connectors. Flaw seems to be the locking pin which is a pain to move between it positions & ensuring it's fully unlocked which is critical to proper crimping. Once you get it operational, then it's a good tool.

Cable Matters All-In-One Modular Ethernet Crimping Tool - Game Changer for Pass-Through Connectors
I was trying to crimp the new style cut pass-through connectors with my old trusty crimper and a Stanley blade to finish/cut. Was having a lot of errors during testing. Pros: - All-in-one crimp and cut function - Works perfectly with Cat5, Cat6, Cat7, and Cat8 pass-through connectors - Makes the job fast and reliable - Much better results than old methods Cons: - None noted It turned out to just be about having the right tool for the job. With this new crimp and cut all-in-one tool, the game has changed! Works every time now. Highly recommend if you're moving to pass-through connectors. Would I recommend? Yes, 5 stars.

Better than the yellow one that starts with a "K"
At work, we use a brand of these that are yellow, well-known, and starts with a "K" but those seem to have a difficult time providing a clean crimp-cut on even 5E cables. I've used Cable Matters products before so I decided to give theirs a shot and I am not disappointed. It is plenty sharp and has no problem cutting off the excess cabling when crimping a pass-through connector, even if they're solid copper, and not strands. That matters. It's compatible with all the popular ethernet cables you'd expect, and is easy to use. In fact, I'd say easier to use since it cleanly cuts the excess wires when you perform the crimp, so you're not having to crimp it 2 or 3 times to get the wires cut that are pushing passed the pass-through connector. I ended up getting one for my personal use outside of work.

Recommend Klein Tools VDV226-110 Vs Cable Matters tool
Recommend Klein Tools VDV226-110 (also available on Amazon as I write this). I have purchased and used both. Klein works better on pass through cables. Klein crimper works better for pass through and non-pass through cables. The Cable Matters pass through cutter is harder to thread the wires through the tool than the Kline and the cut is ‘sloppy’ and not nearly to the tolerances of the Kline tool. If you are cutting existing cable to shorten it or rewire it, the Cable Matters tool works better than the Klein as the Cable Matters tool easier to ‘thread through the cable’ when you have a pre-existing RJ45 connector attached. The latter isn’t an issue if you have stand-alone cables cutters. The Cable Matters lock pin broke on my second day of use. Overall, greatly prefer the Klein tool. It’s also nearly twice the cost. I guess you get what you pay for….your mileage may differ….

Altamente recomendable.

Great crimper
This works really well and it's perfect for passthrough RJ45 jacks because it has the blade that cuts off the excess.
