Fun durable cards
My daughter loves these cards. The jelly card is no longer sticky, but she still likes to dump out all the cards and also tries to put them back in the box. The box is very sturdy and has a velcro dot closure. The cards a fairly sturdy as well. Some of the touch and feel parts aren't really feely as they are only shiny foil "painted" on, so it's more of a visual kind of thing. Since getting these cards and the other three sets, my daughter has quickly learned all the words. It is quite amazing. She also likes to open all the boxes and dump the cards out in a big pile. Then she stands on the pile and slips around on them. She sometimes lies down and makes "flash card angel" which just makes a huge mess. The worst part is me having to separate out the cards. Some cards are similar to others in the other boxes. We have two tractors, two trains, two buses, two dogs, two cats, but each one is a slightly different view. I think these cards helped a lot. I ask her to get a specific card and she looks for it and gives it to me. I also show her cards and she tells me what is on the card. She also will run off and get her toy that is the same as the card. For instance, the dog card, she goes to get her stuffed dog which looks completely different from the one on the card, but she knows that they are both dogs. She'll point to the card, and then to the toy and repeat the word. Sometimes I end up with a big pile of her toys that match those on the cards. Overall these cards are a good value. They are much more sturdy than other cards (Baby Einstein) that she has. She likes to feel the textures on the card too. The images are big and clear without distractions on the card itself.

The cards are nice and sturdy
WOW instant hit with my 15 month old. Immediately purchased 2 other versions. The cards are nice and sturdy, the colors are bright, and each card has a spot with a different texture or material for your toddler to feel (for example the jelly has a spot that's sticky, the corn has grooves and ridges). I love that on the back of each card they have ideas for the adult on how to help your child learn with the cards from suggestions of questions to ask when they are first starting out, working all the way to expanding on spelling related games as they get older, and even going as far as to include translations in Spanish, French, German, and Mandarin if you really want to be that over achiever. I love this because not only does this keep the cards relevant and engaging for your child as they get older, but it gives people with maybe less experience playing with younger children great ideas on how to use these cards. The cards fit nicely in their cardboard enclosure that is secured shut with Velcro, so they are easy to put away or take with you on trips. My only complaint would be that since this is the "First Words" version, I wish one or two of the items which are maybe not as common were replaced with items that would be more in line with actual toddlers first words...and really this is more nit picking than a complaint.

Great interactive touch and feel learning tool for baby's and toddlers!
Love love love these first words flash cards. They have touch and feel on the front of each flash card. They have engaging questions on the back of the card to help the learning and thought process of the child. The flash cards also have translations of the item of the card in different languages such as Chinese and German. The foreign languages also have a pronunciation key to help say the word correctly in a different language. These cards are good for learning first words at the baby stage, but will also go well into the toddler years with all of the engaging questions on the back. Some question on the back of the card are. ~~~~~~~~Apple~~~~~~~~~~ (1. What is the name of this fruit? (2. Does the apple feel rough or smooth? (3. What does an apple taste like? (4.What sound does the "apple" start with? (5. Let's look at the other cards in the pack. Can you find any more things that you can eat? Then it has apple translated in Spanish, French, German and Chinese. These cards are fantastic and my 6 month old baby loves playing with them they have a jelly card that is actually sticky! So neat! I plan to buy more MY First cards they are worth every penny.

Must Have Vocabulary Cards!
Perfect vocabulary cards for helping your little one learn new words! Our 1 year old loves these. She pulls them all out and then puts them all back in. The touch and feel aspect is so fun and yes, the jelly card is the obvious favorite. The cards have great prompting questions to ask in relation to the card, as well as how to say the word in languages... So fun! A bonus is that these sets (all of them, we own 4) come with a parent instruction card. This card provides learning activities to do with your little one based on the stage they are in. Whether on the young baby side or toddler/preschool age, they provide some great ideas I didn't even think of... And I'm a teacher! You get so much from these sets for the price you pay. The box is super durable and closes by velcro. I definitely recommend and will likely add to our already 4 set stock.

What more could you want in Flashcards
Amazing Flashcards! They've really come a long way since I was a kid. Totally worth the money and I cant wait to buy the other sets. They come in a nice box with a velcro flip top. The quality of the cards are really nice thick cardboard that I see lasting a long time. The touch and feel theme just gives it another added bonus of fun for kids and more to talk about to describe and learn details of what you are teaching them. Back of the cards give you more ideas of questions to ask and different languages. Also would be easy to travel with. I love how that are real pictures and not cartoon. I dont know what more you could want. These exceed my expectations! Be mindful of the jelly card. Its sticky so I could see hairs, lint etc sticking to it.

Nice and useful but not so sturdy as they seem
I really like a design and real pictures instead of cartoon, especially for animals. Each card has an element for touching with different texture and each box (I ordered Animals and First words) has one card with description and ideas how to play. This is super cool if you don't have a good imagination. Cards and nicely made, although the fabric/fur/plastic for touching makes the card bulky in some areas. I don't know about other children but my 1.5-year old boy loves to put everything into his mouth and chew/bite/lick etc... And apparently he found a weak side of cards because he can get his teeth on the paper in the area with the fabric. He was able to eat some paper this way and damaged some more bulky cards. He was also able to fold them in hands, especially his favorite car and a fire truck. Well, with a child who won't be playing cards intensively and only under supervision they are great. And they are still good for us. I let my child to explore senses in different ways, including chewing. Probably if you make sure that your child plays with cards in the "proper" way, they will be just fine.

THE ENTIRE 'FIRST WORDS' SET IS WONDERFUL !
I purchased the entire 'MY FIRST' series when my grand daughter was born. From 8 months on she loved the cards and would sit and play with them for an hour at a time. Looking, turning, 'kissing the baby' or 'patting the dog' ~ she loved them all. Over the months we changed out different cards as she was ready to learn new names of animals or items, colors or shapes. There are questions on the back of each card that spark conversation about each item ~ nice touch. And speaking of touch, there are furry animals and other items that are rough or slick or nubby, etc. Nice combo of brightly colored pictures and interesting textures for little brains to learn. Now at 22 months, my grand daughter's favorite game is to lay all the cards out face up and as I call out the name of the card, she picks it up and hands it to me. As she does, I repeat the name and say something about it like: "Cat - see the cat has little ears - feel how soft the cats' fur is." She could play this game all day and learns along the way ! Great gift for new parents or grandparents ! Each set of cards comes in a nice open/close case.

Great for learning words!
These are high quality cards. My baby loves them. They're thick, some have great textures and the word choice is good. We need more! She is already learning the words and is obsessed with them!
