Remember when there were only 3 channels?
And the tv stations went off the air overnight after playing the national anthem? Those days are long gone. I picked up 62 channels on this antenna. 20 that didn’t get put on the soil channel list.If you're looking to cut the cord or simply expand your channel options, the GE Amplified HD Digital TV Antenna is a worthy investment, ease of installation, the quality of reception and the variety of channels it captures make this antenna a fantastic choice for any TV. Highly recommended!I purchased one for myself, one for my mother and I’m going to be ordering a second one for her other tv because this one pulled in more channels then the different brand one she has.Ease of Setup:- Installation was straightforward, and the flexibility of the design allowed me to get creative. I placed the antenna outside, sandwiched between the window and the screen. The cord is thin enough to close the window without affecting the weather seal, which is a brilliant feature for those looking for a minimal footprint installation.Normally it can sit on top of the tv and isn’t distracting like some of the new odd shaped ones you have likely seen on here.Performance:- Even with my unconventional setup, the antenna's performance has been stellar. It picks up a wide array of channels, including HD signals, with minimal interference. The built-in amplifier ensures that even the weaker signals are boosted to a watchable quality, making the most out of its strategic yet subtle placement.

Works good in Bucks County PA (outside Philadelphia)
I'm a recent cord cutter and have been trying out a few different HD antenna models. This one looked appealing to me because of the sleek design for TV attachment and potential to avoid any wall mounts & visible wires.I live in Bucks County PA outside of Philadelphia. I was only interested in getting the main local channels from the antenna (3,6,10,17,29,57 - ABC/NBC/CBS/FOX/etc) but this antenna was actually able to find over 30 channels for me! I did see better results from this antenna on the main & upstairs floors compared to the basement. In the basement, I was able to still get around 30 channels but 6-ABC and 10-NBC were not as easy to get. I couldn't just place antenna on top of TV, would have to move it higher on the ceiling to get it but that defeats the purpose of this model design.I've only been using it for a few days so far but the picture quality for HD is really good too, doesn't look much visibly different than picture from a HD Fios box. I've mostly been watching sports (NFL playoffs) and I'm extremely satisfied with the picture quality. The only obvious tip to give is to read the instructions with the antenna. Simply plugging in the antenna and going to channel doesn't work. I tried this first and got nervous when nothing was found. The instructions indicate that you must connect the antenna and run a channel scan from the TV in order to find the channels. After doing this, the 30+ channels were found.Setup and install of this model is easy and only takes about 5-10 minutes. It is small and light and attaches to the TV with a clamp in a few seconds without any tools. The antenna connects to the TV thru a provided coax cable, about 6 feet I'd estimate. The amplifier connects to the antenna thru coax cable (provided) and is also pretty small, about the size of a travel tissue package. The amplifier needs a power connection which is provided for plug in to outlet. On this model, the amplifier MUST get the power source from an outlet. I've seen other antennas that allow the amplifier to connect to a USB port on the TV for power which is really nice if the TV is not located near an available outlet but this model DOES NOT have this feature. The antenna, amplifier, and all provided coax in my set were black. In all, I do prefer the discrete look and easy setup of this antenna type over the panel antennas that mount to the wall but what really matters are the # of channels found and picture quality. I went with a hybrid approach in the end using this antenna for my main floor and upstairs TVs while using the panel antenna type in the basement.A good resource to try in your area is nocable.org which allows you to enter your zip code and see a list of channels that should be available and even recommends an antenna model that may work best for your area.

An inexpensive amplified indoor antenna that's good.
My experience with the GE Amplified HD Digital TV Antenna is favorable. My location is approximately 35 miles from downtown Nashville, Tenn. and this antenna receives 62 channels consistently. Furthermost station received is a PBS affiliate from Cookeville or around 65 air miles at its fringe. The feature I like most is the antenna ability of being concealed behind furniture or tucked away over/under a windowsill without major degrading to signal. It is pleasingly small-sized for room aesthetics, easy enough to install, and one can probe to seek best reception signal without much fuss. The antenna works without any amplification, but number of stations received are fewer given my distance from transmitters. Performance may vary by location and natural obstructions, but the optimum antenna range is around 40 miles from broadcast tower. Rural areas need outdoor placement of a stronger rated antenna which is considerably more expensive. A good overall value that works well in apartments or dwellings where outdoor antennas are not permitted by home owner neighborhood associations.

Don't Buy. You might get a Returned One!
The one I got look like one someone had returned and they just taped it back up and sent it to me. The end was torn and taped and the bag inside with the parts in it had been open and re-taped. No instructions (maybe it doesn't come with any). All parts seem to be there. Hooked it up and my cheap antenna I had worked better than this thing. Didn't clip on to the top of my TV very stable (maybe just my TV). Antenna appeared to be warped. Sending it back for refund. One of the few things Amazon Prime membership is good for, no hassle return. Went to Wal-Mart and bought another kind/brand. At least I can see what I am getting before I pay for it. Suggest not buying this product, you might get the one I am retuning.

Your mileage may vary
I had purchased this, essentially, to get live network broadcasts on a smart tv that I haven't hooked up to cable. I liked the idea that it could mount atop the TV and be fairly inconspicuous. The connections are a little unclear, and, in fact, it worked much better for me without the included signal amplifier. The mechanism to get this to perch on top of the set is fairly flimsy and it won't feel tight - you'll depend a bit on balance to keep it up there. Now, when I had it on top of the set and used the amplifier, I found zero channels (I should receive about 30 from broadcast towers within 30 miles of my home - and the range claims to be 55 miles). I disconnected the amplifier and found 6 channels - PBS and home shopping. I played around a bit with placement and ultimately, after I took the antenna off the top of the set and placed it on a shelf to the side, I was able to pick up 29 channels. On those channels that I did pick up, the picture quality is excellent and there's no noticeable lag or degradation (unless I walk too close to the antenna). I won't be returning, but I'm a little disappointed that I can't set it inconspicuously on top of the set, as I'd intended - I actually think, design-wise, a side mount style clamp would be a great option, as it might allow for positioning on whichever side of the set faced your broadcast towers. If you buy this and are frustrated, try multiple positions and try disconnecting the in-line amplifier. For less than $30 to get live NFL games on Fox and CBS, it seems worth it to me.

Best antenna for broadcast television
I got this awesome antenna to replace my hideous rabbit ears that I had to put in a window to get proper reception. This sits right on top of the flatscreen, has a nice glossy black finish to it, and it's hardly noticeable. It almost looks like a part of the TV, if you didn't know better. With the amplifier plugged in, it pulled in over 125 channels, but I live in a major metro area. A lot of those channels are in Spanish, Korean or Chinese. All the major broadcast channels like CBS, Fox, NBC, ABC, and the CW come in clearly. This is truly the best antenna I've owned, and it's a relief that someone designed it to replace rabbit ears that are so ugly and often don't work well even with digital broadcast signals. This works far better than my rabbit ear antenna. This antenna also pulls in VHF and UHF rather than only UHF, which is important because there are still stations broadcasting in VHF in most cities. I highly recommend this antenna above all other indoor TV antennas. There's another brand with this same design, but I chose the GE model because the reviews indicated that other brand was cheaply built and got bad reception. Also, it only had a range of 50 miles, whereas this has a range of 55 miles, theoretically.

Great TV reception for up to 40 miles from broadcast tower
I live in a south suburb of Chicago Illinois and am able to receive all of my local stations with great audio and video quality. Compact and easy to use.

Antenna actually works indoor!
This product is fantastic! I found it to be actually technically sound and it works! I had an old set of rabbit ears sitting on top of my brand new Samsung UHD TV, what an eyesore. I saw that this antenna had an overall rating of 4 so I thought I would give it a go. It looks sleek, stylish and most importantly functions well. After having purchased a different antenna with a very long coaxial cable, buyer beware if there is a long cable on the antenna - they want you to put it by a window or some other unsightly location stringing a cable around your entire room and do channel searches at the different locations, I was hesitant to buy another antenna. I looked around for an antenna with a short coaxial cable and this one appeared to have a short cable at 5 feet. The price seemed reasonable at $27.88, 4 July 2020. With my old rabbit ears, I could get in 23 channels and they would be spotty at times. With this new one, I pulled in 27 channels and they are clear! That was a plus up of 4 channels that my old one didn't bring in and I have wonderful clarity. Please see my picture of installation on the top of my TV. I have also added the product box pictures. They include a low-noise amplifier (LNA) and say to install it first and if you don't get good reception, uninstall the LNA. I did just the opposite and pulled in the 27 channels right away without the LNA! I then did try it with the LNA but no additional channels were brought in. It hovers over my new TV very nicely! I wish someone would have thought of this a long time ago! I would highly recommend this antenna!
