Pretty cool device, but the 2nd one I purchased looks way different and has troubles starting up.
I bought one, liked it, bought another, and it looks different. It's the same device, but the facade is different. The newest one (in the picture on the left), its readout is the same orange/red as the first one (right), but the body is glossy instead of matte and it has green writing on it instead of the white. I don't like the glossy body, it looks kind of chintzy. I like the first one with matte body and white writing better, and was expecting to get a matching one. I don't have matching vinyl turntables either, so I'm not that worked up it, but.. Also, the newer glossy one, when I turn it on, it takes forever to show anything on the readout. At first it just lights up but no text of any kind for several minutes. It seems to work fine if I turn it off and on again, then maybe wait 10 to 30 seconds. Seems like it's 'booting up' slow, and I wonder if this one is of lower quality than the first one I got. The first one does not do this. I may end up having to send the newer glossy one back, depending on how it holds up. Right now it seems to work after a little coaxing, and functions normally otherwise for as long as it is on, once it does start working. I would say the newer one also has a little less responsiveness from the buttons. The first one works just fine, and I've been using it for over a month now without any problems. THE DEVICE ITSELF: Look folks, for the price, it is what I expected. This does what it's supposed to do, and it performs as I expect it to at this price point. Personally, I don't look for expansive features and effects on a digital player, so this is a nice option. The jog wheel, in vinyl mode, isn't spectacular, and doesn't really compare to vinyl. The wheel has several options/modes though, functions just fine, and is about what I expected. If you work up your skill with it, it works fine for queuing and mixing. If you're interested in scratching hip hop or something, you may not like this one. The effects it has are pretty cool for the price. The looping feature is kind of fun, and I plan to mess with that a lot more with two of these players. Also, this has three % modes for pitch control, which gives a +/- range up to 24%, which is handy. Also, it has a + and - button to temporarily increase/decrease the pitch, which I've found to work a bit more like touching a vinyl records for beat matching. Again, with some time and skill, you can do some fun stuff with this device. I recommend getting low profile USB drives for this so you don't have to have thumb drives protruding from the device. It would be really cool if this had tone lock so when a song is pitched up or down a lot to match beats, you can keep from having vocals sound like chipmunks or bodybuilders voices.

Works as advertising with one issue
These units were manufactured around 2010 and were designed for DJ's playing music from USB flash drives. They do a good job at what they were designed to do. After ordering several, the only negative is that this series of units seems to take several minutes to go from blank screen to functioning player. Probably some type of design flaw or chip issue. If you are looking to play music from flash drives with basic DJ effects (looping, pitch, etc.), and you can live with the startup issue, this unit may work for you. The units are sold by a variety of sellers but all seem to ship from Thunderball Marketing in NJ.

Lightweight and easy to use
Straight out the box without looking at the instructions. It's perfect for playing music files right from the 2 port option of the flash drive. Might just have to buy another as a backup :)

Great units for djs!
I ordered 2 of these from beach audio and the shipping address was wrong. Amazon couldn't change the address for me. So I called beach audio directly and they fixed it for me immediately! They are a great seller! And the decks are awesome! I would buy again!

Great for the beginner digital DJ!
This is basically a CD deck that runs off usb sticks. Has the same basic controls as a CDJ but with a lower price tag, for those who want to get their toes wet in digital mixing. I only gave it four stars because it only plays MP3 (no WAV), and the jog wheel doesn’t work well for scratching (there’s a delay and it’s also overly sensitive). Haven’t had any problems other than that. Great unit!
