Nice Flat and Sharp Scraper
This scraper works great. I mainly use it on aluminum gasket surfaces—motorcycle heads, cylinders, clutch covers, and similar parts. It definitely has the potential to damage aluminum if you’re not careful, but that’s true of any scraper sharp enough to do anything. I keep brass scrapers on hand as well, and which one I use really depends on the situation. I usually start with the brass and switch to the carbide if the brass isn’t cutting it. You can still gouge aluminum with a brass scraper if you press too hard, so sometimes it’s actually safer to use the sharp carbide blade with very light pressure. It's so sharp that it takes almost no pressure to get off all but the most stubborn gasket materials.

10/10 product. Highly recommend
Unbelievably good!! Do not buy any other scraper on the market, just trust me and get the Lisle brand. Amazing amazing quality. Cleans surfaces super cleanly with minimal effort

Nice to have for oil pans or valve cover jobs
Good to have when doing valve covers or oil pans One of the most-borrowed tools I've borrowed from another tech's toolbox, i just had to get my own. Works well for it's size. I'll get more sizes as the need comes up. Easy to use, almost no instructions needed, but a quick youtube video would be a good refresher. Use gentle pressure when using, as this can gouge the surface you're cleaning.

Nice sharp carbide block tip
It fits well in the hand and the grip is some sort of very hearty plastic. The carbide tip is the real deal and has a very sharp edge and they can scrap like a mf'er. Im glad I made this purchase!

Way cheaper than a tool truck
I bought this set because I had borrowed a scraper (identical to the larger one in this set) and a truck ate it. I think it got wedged down along the frame-rail. It was gone forever, so I had to go shamefully tell my coworker that I had lost his prized scraper. He had bought it from a Matco tool truck about two months before and it was very popular for stripping paint off some of the heavy equipment we have to work with and fix up. I found this set of two for much less than my coworker had paid for a single one and I jumped at it. I wanted to replace his tool as soon as I could. I just hoped the quality would be up to snuff. A miracle happenned and when I pulled the scraper eating truck out into the parking lot later that week, the scraped came flying out. I was able to happily return the tool to my coworker the day before the new set arrived in the mail. Since we now had both of them, we have been comparing quality of the tools. The only difference between his Matco branded one and the larger one in this set is the actual word "Matco" stamped on the side. I literally think they are from the same factory. They are identical. The one from this set has worked just as well and been able to stand up to even more punishment. And this one comes with the smaller scraper for those hard to reach areas. The smaller one is also very high quality and durable. Wrap-up: Two scrapers that are just as durable as a nice name brand, but for way way less money. I have literally recommended these to all my coworkers who wanted the Matco version but thought it was way too expensive.

Sweet Tools - Don't Go Cheap - You Will Like These
I was trying to clean the thermostat and water pump mating surfaces from an older 1991 Jeep Wrangler. Needless to say, the gasket and antifreeze deposits were like built on metal and very difficult to scrape off. I used chemical gasket removers, acetone, wire brush and 3M green scrubber. I started to use a rotary tool, but stopped quickly as it can quickly remove metal and damage your surface. I decided to invest is these tools and they are perfect. You need both sizes to work different areas to minimize accidental damage because of bad angles or space constraints. These tools will scrape away those hard deposits, gaskets, etc leaving a nice smooth and flat surface. Take your time and don't rush and you will have a great surface to work with. I liked the handles quite a bit. Thick enough to fit comfortably in your hands. The product needs a case. There are covers for the blades, but no one would complain to have case. I bought a cheap case from Harbor Freight. The case had two permanent plastic partitions that I had to cut away using a dremel wheel. But the case fit perfectly.

This is the best tool I have found so far for removing old gasket material from engine parts. You do have to be careful to keep it flat or it can score the surface. Pushing it forward to scrap will score softer metals like aluminum. With this scraper and it's smaller brother, I no longer dread gasket removal.

Nicely presented scrapers, machining of the carbide tips is a little inconsistent, slightly out of square on both tool tips. That said it doesn’t seem to affect the tools performance and the carbide tips have held their edge. Excellent job removing hard baked head, water pump, sump gaskets etc on older vintage components. These are instant time savers, comfortable quality plastic handles allowing less physical effort.

I've spent many years working on engines, and getting old gasket material off is one of my most hated chores. I still don't enjoy it, but these scrappers are at least 10x better than your regular razor blade. They helped me a lot and saved so much time, they're a must have if you deal with scraping gaskets off.

I use these regularly and they work real well. They are tough stay straight and hold a keen edge can be used on soft metals like aluminium with due care and also steel iron ect. Way better than razor blades and spatulas.
