Reliable, fast wireless CarPlay at an incredibly low price
For the price, this is an excellent no-frills head unit that delivers fast, reliable wireless CarPlay without the usual Android bloat. It fits perfectly in my NB Miata when paired with the Metra Electronics 99-7505 double DIN installation kit. I originally bought it because of the reviews and the extremely low cost, and it has exceeded expectations. The Linux-based operating system boots quickly, and wireless CarPlay connects in under 10 seconds. Rear camera performance is clear and reliable.I like having a physical volume knob, although there is no mute function for CarPlay, so volume has to be turned down manually. Call audio quality is very good even without using an external microphone. Installation was customized: I removed the ISO connector and wired in an aftermarket Miata harness, bypassed the factory Bose amplifier to run the head unit directly to the speakers, and added a separate switch for the power antenna since the unit’s blue wire is always on. Sound quality is an improvement over my previous Pioneer single-DIN head unit.

Stay Away
UPDATE:Google maps flips out and automatically try to navigate and screen will continuously beep as if you are tapping the screen. Eonon customer service determined its faulty but prefer if I purchase a new one for 75% off. I refused as the stereo is under warranty. This is our second unit, the first one died on us after warranty and they offered a discount on the second one. They will continuously try to get you to purchase a new one to boost sales.Stay away from this radio and company as their customer service isn't very good.Original:Linux system works well and really good price for what you get. Connectivity is good with Android Auto. My biggest gripe is the stereo didn't fit the Metra double din kit (95-8907HG) quite right which wouldn't be a big deal except it makes it hard to turn the volume knob. I may 3D print a new knob :)

A complete kit for little money.
The good: the kit includes a rear camera and the special wiring needed.Very good sound and a decent output power.Android auto works wireless on my phone (Xiaomi Note 9) and also works wired with my wife one (Xiaomi Redmi 9).*** It has an annoying bug: after a hands free phone call, the audio disconnects. You have no choice but restart the unit.***How could it been better? Well, on my car, a wire exchange had to be done between batt (red) and acc (yellow), to keep the settings after a power off. May be your car doesn't need this to be done. The DSP is nice and you can shape the sound to your liking. You can go to the controls easyly from a shortcut icon in the radio, but from any other sound source you will be forced to navigate through many stages to reach them, wich is uncomfortable and dangerous if you are driving.Another annoyance is that the wired Android auto version needs to plug the cable into the unit frame, a odd and ugly place where your fingers will collide at the bottom left corner of the screen. The unit provides a separated female USB that should be perfect for that, but sadly only works as a charging port.I had to install a separated power switch or push button, in order to power down the unit, because if it fails to connect wireless Android auto, you need to restart the unit, and of course, you can't do that when driving. However, I learned not to fiddle with the sceen when the unit is starting, and no more wireless Android auto failures occurred since. The kit also includes an external mic, wich was not needed. The onboard one works fine with my voice.I added a cheap remote control to the steering wheel column (a wired one) and works very well, despite the phisical controls the unit provides, so I always have my hands on the wheel.Installation: Watch out the dimensions. In my country I had a hard time finding an adapter frame for my Ford Ecosport. Only few vendors, and very pricey (half the price the unit itself). So I ended making some Macgyverish with scrap aluminium profiles, wood pieces and cooper tubing to adapt the unit. A nice carbon fiber wrapper finish added beauty to the self made frame. The rear camera works very well even in low ligth environment, despite some flickering.I considered an Atoto A6 before, but the Eonon gave me a phisical volume knob and an onboard DSP, so it was the winner. For a hundred bucks, you have a nice, modern unit with decent sound, wireless Android auto and a rear camera, special wiring included.

Great little radio for $100
Far surpassed my expectations for the price. For starters, the interface is fairly easy to navigate and full of features, but the head unit boots up fairly quickly (5-7 seconds after the ignition is switched on). I installed the included rear-view camera, and the sharpness and quality is also excellent for the price. FM/AM reception is good, phone connectivity is stable, and wireless Carplay works wonderfully without much lag. The amplifier gets plenty loud and will overpower my factory car speakers if I set the volume above halfway, but there is plenty of granularity in how much you can adjust the volume. Overall, I was very impressed with this head unit, it was relatively easy for me to install, but I have a background in electronics. It took me about 3 hours all in. Make sure to get the required audio wiring harness and dash kit for your vehicle. Some cars will be able to accept this with no modification (I think some GM vehicles work with the included harness). I had to purchase an additional harness for my Honda and bridge the connections to the harness included with the radio using a soldering iron. The only gripe I have is the fitment between the volume knob and my frame for the dash kit. The knob is small and scrubs against the frame, which made it difficult to adjust the volume at first. It seems to have work in / I got used to it and it doesn't bother me anymore.

Decent for the price Wireless Android Auto rarely works
Wireless Android Auto only works about 1 out of 20 times. I've updated the firmware and reset the unit countless times. It works consistently when wired to the front USB port. The reverse camera is clear and bright. It would be nice if the reverse lines were adjustable, they are way too wide. The camera bracket gets rusty quickly. It is super easy to program the steering wheel controls if you have a resistive ladder type controls. Most major brands require additional hardware to setup steering wheel controls.

The perfect head unit upgrade for me! Cheap, works great with Android Auto.
Its cheap and it relies on your phone, a thumb drive or the radio to make music. Runs linux instead of android, and comes with Carplay and android auto. Honestly, it was exactly what I wanted. You will need harness adapters to connect to your car, antenna and native USB ports (which you can use to connect your phone, or you can also use Bluetooth, which works well). It does come with a reverse camera, but have not installed that yet. There are also ports for other cameras which I intend to explore.Note that this is not a standalone device, it does not run android, it does not have its own GPS antenna or sim card. If you do not have your phone with you, no maps etc. Just being clear about it; for me none of this was an issue, instead I wanted this more antiquated approach.Installation took about an hour for just the head unit; but I did a bunch of research to be ready.Screen is sharp and you can adjust brightness etc. If you research online you can also get the code to change settings beyond those in the control panel. All in all super pleased. Easy to use. Wireless connectivity. Have not used the radio much, but sounded great in my tests.

Maybe I shouldn't have had such high hopes
I was stoked when I saw a Linux based head unit available. My lost Eonon finally lost it's gps and I went to replace it with this. I like that this unit has android auto and it mostly works wirelessly. Unless for some reason the connection gets dropped then you basically need to turn it on and back off again to get it to resync. And alas due to the way it's designed for power/sleep, I need to actually turn my car off and on before it'll connect again wirelessly. It'll work via cable, but not wireless until it's had a chance to reboot.DON'T HIT THE RESET BUTTON. That will reset ALL your customization. Not just reboot the unit.Audio quality is alright, but I just did a ~12 hour road trip with this for it's first long test. Audio would randomly just drop while on wireless android auto. Only for a second or so and then continue right along. It takes too long to adjust the sound (treble/bass/balance/fader blah blah). It's several screen presses to go from android auto -> home -> apps -> setup -> sound. You cannot install ANYTHING else to this head unit. It's just a screen mirror/AA/CP unit that happens to run on a super trim linux. I was hoping I could get into the linux subsystem and play around but no luck yet.Screen quality is alright, although if the sun is coming through my windshield the screen turns into a mirror basically. Was hard to see the screen as it just reflected my passenger seat quite well.Pondering returning this head unit.
