There is not a flavor added to our Icing Color, but please note that if you use a large amount of any food coloring, it can cause a bitter flavor.

How do you clean up to avoid stains?

We would recommend using gloves when using food coloring if you are concerned about potential staining

I am needing to make buttercream icing into a very dark blue. Will just the royal blue work or do I need to mix some black in it with the blue?

Hi Nicole, the Royal Blue will give you a very dark blue (when enough is added) and adding any Black just might gray it up a bit. Please remember also that your icing will darken as it sets. I have used this Royal Blue for Military Emblems and Flags.
