Found schisandra this good a decade ago and never found as good a product until now. The medicinal effect is in the volitile oils so the smell (to a lesser extent the color) are the giveaways. I would not call the price incredible but it is reasonable given the quality. Pairing with licorice enhances the flavor and medicinal effect

The product arrived on time, perfect packaging. This is my third time buying from the same seller. Very satisfied with the product!

I bought these dried Schisandra chinensis berries mostly out of curiosity. Schisandra may possibly inhibit Vibrio harveyi bacteria (see WO2019088770) and its Luciferase enzyme. I am a "show me" kind of self-experimentalist and not afraid to do exactly what the "originators" of Traditional Chinese Medicine are credited with doing when they documented that healing system so many centuries ago. That is, *try it* and observe the results before you discount its effects (or dare recommend it to anyone else). What I received was a sealed clear plastic bag with an Amazon stocking label printed with "Nature Organic Schisandra Be...dra Chinesis (Wu Wei Zi) Tea Made in China". Inside that clear bag was a sealed paper-wrapped plastic package labeled with "Dried Schisandra Chinesis" with the USDA ORGANIC and ECOCERT logos and a "GREEN HEALTH" logo, which is presumably the distribution company? This inner package is the same light-brown paper package pictured on the product page. If either of your packages are *not* sealed then you may have a previously purchased and returned product? FWIW there is also a printed "Expiry Date: Apr.30th,2026" i.e. more than two and a half years from the date I received this package. This expiration date is fairly optimistic but not impossible for properly dried and stored "herbs". "GREEN HEALTH" apparently does not have an Amazon storefront page and there's not enough company info available to confirm that these berries actually conform to USDA ORGANIC and ECOCERT standards. On the plus side, they were apparently cultivated in a traditional location in China, have a nice color (dark red like dried cranberries), have a nice tart smell and taste, etc. and don't appear to have any residue of any sort on them. I would definitely give them the benefit of the doubt and call them "high-quality medicinal". I've tried popping a teaspoonful of the dried berries directly into my mouth and sucking them clean down to the seeds. I also tried chewing a few of the seeds (they are very thin-shelled and not at all hard on your teeth) but that particular bitter taste could likely stimulate an "upset stomach". So I probably won't be chewing the seeds again, but other than that, these berries seem to provide a very mellow adaptogenic effect. If they do indeed suppress V. harveyi then that would be an added bonus. For herbal remedies I'm usually too busy/lazy to make tea and I'm therefore partial to tinctures. So I've also purchased a Hawaii Pharm alcohol tincture of Schisandra, but it's quite possible that they source their berries from an outfit very similar to this one. I will probably just continue to occasionally suck these dried berries until I've finished the package...
