I believe it is a rabbit. It could be an alien rabbit since they made it green and it has spiky ears. Maybe it's an alien cat. It honestly doesn't look like any normal animal I know.

Do they melt if left in your car?

They might if you left it on your dashboard but we live In south Louisiana and my kids have left them in the back seat and never melted
