Seagate Barracuda Pro Performance Internal Hard Drive SATA HDD 1TB 7200RPM 6Gb/s 128MB Cache 2.5-Inch (ST1000LM049)

I am usually good Seagate drives. Did not disappoint. Have been using this for over a year now. No issues and hardly hear it make any sound.

I've been using Seagate since the late 90s and they never fail to please. The introduction of the Barracuda line just adds finish to an already impressive quality. If these drives fail it's not because Seagate manufactured a faulty drive. It's because you did something to corrupt it. Trust me, I've gone through a few over the years and each time it's been user error. Can't say enough good things about these drives. They are just built to run fast and last a long, long time.

So my AM3+ PC fried back in December 2019 from a wrath of god power surge. My neighbor gave me a selection of her old laptops that had various issues, and I was able to get a Sony Vaio working by replacing the failed hard drive with this drive in January 2020. Installed windows 7 Ultimate x64 on it, and so far I have no complaints relating to the drive 7 months later.It was much slimmer than I expected (if I had a connection splitter I could fit two into the laptop), but I was able to install it in the larger drive bay without any hitches. When I do, I will probably leave this hard drive in the Vaio for a back up (and portable) computer.

This is an incredible steal. For only 60 bucks you get an amazing drive that’s even better with an SSD. Unfortunately I got sent a bag of cat food at first, so I’m taking 1 star off for amazon’s goof up. My friend was nice enough to give me his spare (which is the exact same thing as this one, I checked). This drive is great for gamers, students, and workers. Unless Amazon sends you a bag of cat food. Then that’s only good for a cat.

I liked everything about the transaction, the drive arrived on the date specified, opened and installed, loaded my Windows 11 Pro media creation flash drive and voila, on my way to PC happiness. No problems or difficulties at all, total time including loading windows and all updates to make the drive functional, 2 hours. That includes 56 updates, and the drive is blazing fast, delivers everything the ad said it would and more. FIVE STARS *****

Had this for about a month now! Works great and it cut down my loading time. Very great for the price will def buy again with a higher storage capacity!

Bought this for use with a Eufy Homebase 3 for continuous recording. After less than a year, the drive no longer works. Every time I try to view a recording, I have to re-format the drive. This means that you have to erase all the recordings from the drive before you can view. This defeats the purpose of having a hard drive to save recordings. I know the issue is not the home base because I was able to get a new home base and the issue persists. It's been less than a year and have no idea how to get in contact with Seagate for the warranty. When I enter the serial number on the website, it tells me to contact the place of purchase. There's no phone number to call for Seagate. Do yourself a favor and do NOT buy if you plan to use this with a Eufy Homebase 3 for continuous recording.

I bought this to replace my original cheap Toshiba drive in my laptop. A slow drive, I think 5600. The Seagate was an easy swap into my HP, fired right up and has been humming along. It made a little bit of a difference, but to be fair, this HP has a crap processor and that's the big hold up. Still no regrets buying the Seagate, not a bad drive at all.
