PDP Riffmaster Wireless Guitar Controller for XBOX Series X|S, XBOX One, PC

I was initially torn between the PDP Gaming Riffmaster and the CRKD version. I eventually opted for the Riffmaster, primarily because the Xbox version was nearly 50% off, making it an incredible value for the money. Setup and Compatibility I primarily purchased this controller to play Clone Hero on PC, but I have also tested it with Rock Band 3 Deluxe and Yarg. Getting the controller to sync with Clone Hero requires a little bit of setup, but the effort is well worth it. To get it running perfectly: Remove existing drivers: Uninstall "Xbox Game Input" via the Windows Control Panel. Install mapping tools: Download and install RB4 Instrument Mapper and ViGEmBus (both are easily found on GitHub). Once these are installed, the game runs flawlessly. Even the whammy bar functions correctly—something many users had concerns about regarding the Xbox version on PC. Additionally, I can confirm that it is fully usable on Linux systems. Build and Feel The overall responsiveness and build of the controller are fantastic. While it is undeniably a plastic instrument, it feels highly durable and well-constructed. The Strum Bar: I was initially unsure about the lack of a tactile switch in the strum bar, but the action is remarkably similar to the classic Rock Band controllers. It takes almost no time at all to get used to. Ergonomics: The guitar rests comfortably and the buttons are highly responsive during fast sections. Final Verdict I highly recommend the Riffmaster. If you are on the fence about whether to pick one up, you will not be disappointed. It delivers an authentic rhythm gaming experience whether you are on PC or Linux!

I picked up the PDP Riffmaster Wireless Guitar Controller for my Xbox Series X, and it’s been awesome for playing Rock Band 4 and Fortnite Festival. What I like: Easy wireless setup — connects quickly with the included USB dongle, no lag at all. Long battery life — up to 36 hours per charge with USB-C fast charging included. Comfortable design — lightweight, fits well in the hands, and the foldable neck makes it easy to store. Analog stick and audio jack — perfect for volume control and private listening during gameplay. Responsive buttons and strum bar — makes playing smooth and fun. What could be better: The tilt sensor for activating Overdrive takes some getting used to. Button layout is similar to Rock Band 4, so there might be a short learning curve if you’re used to other controllers. Overall, this is the best wireless guitar controller I’ve used on Xbox — solid build, great battery life, and excellent gameplay. Highly recommend for rhythm game fans!

If you're playing on console you only have Rock band 4 and Fortnite festival as your choices so far. Pc different story, I'm sure you can play more. Overall very good works perfectly. Only gripe is where the Whammy is positioned. When strumming it feels wedged into the side of your hand. and obviously when your not using it it can feel quite uncomfortable. Also the menu and dpad buttons are bellow this and are quite difficult to press mid song since these are your star power/ boost buttons. You can rebind them to the upper stick below to top of the guitar however. But the positives much out way the negatives. Has great travel abilities since you can fold it, put the adapter inside the guitar since the faceplate is removable ( and when putting it back the clicks it makes are quite satisfying) and you can even take the head off which further makes it more convenient to travel with, and doubles as a comfort/ accessibility option when using it. in conclusion the guitar is great, more than great, it's very good as a first gaming guitar and I would highly recommend, some say the durability isn't great, however I have not come across any problems so far. Of course you should watch some videos on it before you buy as you should anything. But make sure to stay conscious that most videos will be comparing it to the more expensive, Pc options. And if you've never used one outside of guitar hero when you was young, there is a learning curve but not a big one, you won't be playing through the fire and flames/ One Or Black diamond flawless first try, but you will very quickly find yourself becoming more capable and improving very quickly. :)

Already knew these were going to be quality playing rockband with the wife every now and again (she's not an avid gamer but found she really enjoys rockband) Only issue I have found is that the analogue stick doesn't seem to do anything. Dpad and everything else is fine. Two sets of frets on the necks for fatter or thinner fingers works well just don't understand the point as the analogue doesn't work on any of them strangely. A bit spenny value for money wise but this is the best quality I've seen in my quest for a new guitar to play with

I had been waiting for a long time to be able to play Rock Band with a guitar controller again. After my last guitar controller stopped working I searched around for a new one but couldn’t find any. I only came across secondhand ones and if I did see a new one it was way too expensive. So thank you for making a new batch of these guitar controllers again so some of us can enjoy playing rock band again like we did back in the day. It was refreshing and exciting to be rocking out again. It is good value for money and most importantly is brand new! As far as compatibility goes though, I think this guitar controller will only work with Rock Band 4 and the Fortnite Festival, but maybe there are ways around that to use it for other rhythm games, but so far I’ve had this for about a year now and it’s still working okay. Let’s hope it continues to do so!

This works flawless on Xbox for Rock Band 4. It's excellent and the best in every way

This might be great for consoles, however it's marketed as being compatible with Windows 10/11 too. It isn't. Getting this thing to work with PC is a nightmare and requires multiple instances of third-party software running at the same time, and even then it only partially works. It's ridiculous how it's being advertised and what's worse is the QR code they've put in the box for "tech support" just takes you to a blank website, there's no help at all. Shocking, DO NOT buy this if you're going to primarily use it on PC.

This guitar is excellent really well made and looks stylish. Works perfectly with rock band 4 and was a pure nostalgia trip as soon as I loaded up the game. I've not played in years but after a few song muscle memory kicked in and I was hitting the notes with ease. I'm so glad that in 2025 that I can now play a game I've been fond of fond of for many years. Music rythem games did fall out fashion for a while but if anything is going to bring them back they need a guitar like this. Love the fact it's silent when strumming so I can play late into the night without annoying anyone else it the house. All I can say is if you have been looking to relive the good old days of your youth rocking out then this is the controller to get. 100% worth every penny.

Fonctionne bien avec le jeu PC YARC. Vien avec une strap pour la tenir autour du cou. Bref Je recommande pour ceux qui veulent une expérience guitare HERO sur PC

The first guitar that arrived unfortunately had a broken knob, making it impossible to play. The exchange was processed immediately, and the new guitar arrived after only 1-2 days. I've been playing Fortnite Festival on it for three weeks now and have absolutely no regrets. The product is incredibly awesome, and the support was quick and easy. 10/10

Finalmente uma nova guitarra para jogar os jogos estilo Guitar Hero. Funciona perfeitamente em Fortnite Festival.

Me encantaron los materiales de construcción de la guitarra, el plástico se siente muy sólido, bien construido y se ve bastante atractivo a la vista. La barra de strum se siente suave y no hace ningún ruido a comparación con las guitarras de Guitar Hero. Los botones de traste son cómodos y silenciosos, pero los veo un poco separados, por lo que si tienes manos pequeñas se te puede dificultar tocar. Creo que su punto más fuerte es su compatibilidad y latencia, pues gracias al dongle, la latencia en Xbox está muy baja, lo que permite tocar sin problemas, incluso el tilt de la guitarra se siente excelente, pues no es muy sensible y es divertido de usar. En cuanto a su comportamiento en PC, es decente, no solo se puede jugar a Fortnite festival, sino que con unos programas la puedes configurar para que puedas usarla en emuladores, permitiendo jugar a los títulos de guitar hero o rock band antiguos, el cual es el uso que le doy, lo volvería a comprar.

The guitar does not connect to its dongle. Tried every possible way official and through reddit to get it to connect to Xbox or PC.
