I'm a pretty handy gal, but this was my first full furniture build. My husband was working nights and I just couldn't wait for his days off, so I got to work. The guides were perfect! Steps you through then entire process. Even though this was a tall order for a single person to complete with such heavy pieces, it turned out beautifully. I need to switch out the handle and bulk up the nightstands a bit, but it's perfect for our office space.

See, you have to purchase the wood and these days wood isn't cheap! Especially if you want to make your bed out of solid wood - maple or walnut or whatever. I haven't bought the wood yet, but I've looked over the instructions and checked on all the hardware to ensure the kit was complete. I am in the process of building my home and with an open concept partial second floor, the guest bedroom upstairs will have this Murphy bed instead of a bed that takes up space all the time. Makes more sense with a guest bedroom to have it open with lots of space until that space is needed. Both my grown sons love to play video games and I do have a spare TV up there - they can sit on chairs and play games and if they are staying over, move the chairs out of the way, pull down the bed and there you go! Nice set to DIY a Murphy bed so you can say, "I made this!"

Got this to help replace a bed in our RV. Unfortunately due to the configuration of the old bed this hardware did not work for us. But the instructions are quite in depth. Components seem of good quality. If you already have a Murphy bed and your just replacing hardware it should give you everything you need. Would also be fairly quick and easy to replace.
