Our dryer vents out to a porch where we spend a lot of time. This helps keep it clean!

This plastic for this product is weak and flimsy. I was mounting the item to the wall, the angle of the hook on the item was not great. When trying to attach to the mount, it snapped off. This is probably worth $5, if it doesn’t break, not $30.

Needed this to exhaust the ELECTRIC dryer into the cellar. Mounted it adjacent to the dryer, the plastic should be more substantial I can foresee it failing quickly. Only time will tell. Not recommended. .

We live in a very cold climate at pretty high elevations. So the air is very dry in the winter time. Well, all year round, but a warm house in the winter will have the humidity in the house down near zero percent. In the winter I blow the dryer vent into the house to add moisture and to add heat. I have used the misses old nylons as a filter on the end of the vent hose. This works okay, but it still spreads a lot of the fine lint around the house. So when I saw this I figured I would give it a try. Here are my thoughts on the Viwinvela indoor dryer vent: PROS: 1) It has a three layer filter system that really works well in keeping the lent down. The bottom of the filter you fill with water which catches a lot of lint. The it goes through a wire mesh (Pic 1). The wire mesh holds in place a foam filter before it exits into the room. 2) It comes with everything to attach to your vent hose including 2 clamps making installation easy. 3) The material quality of the plastic is pretty typical of what I have seen in the stores. It is a little flimsy but certainly adequate for the task. 4) The filter is cleanable and can be rinsed out when it gets full of lint. 5) It came with an extra foam filter which is a nice touch. CONS: 1) The wall clip is almost impossible to get the water filled base to hook onto it. I gave up and just set the filter on the floor. 2) The top is difficult to get on to the base due to the flex in the plastic and the flexible hose. It takes a little work to get on and then it pops off pretty easily. Grrr. lol 3) With the water in the base it is easy to have spills and makes cleaning it up more messy. But on the good side the water really helps with filtering the lint! CONCLUSSION: This is a pretty good filter if you want to vent some warm moist air into your home. You will get the warm moist air with limited lint dust. A few things could be better but it is a big step up from using the misses nylons! RATING SYSTEM: I review a lot of products because I know reading other peoples reviews are very helpful in selecting the right product. I saw a reviewer that gave a rating scale and I thought, "that is useful". When one is reviewing from underwear to air compressors having a way to tell you why I rate is important. Here is my rating scale: 5 Stars: Excellent product, I highly recommend this product for anyone. 4 Stars: Good product, but there are some quality, functionality, or design issues, but will still work well. 3 Stars: Okay product, it will work for some people but not all people. It works but not great. 2 Stars: Is not very functional. It might work in a very specialized situation, but don't count on it. 1 Star: Trash. I can't see any useful purpose for the product.
