I typicaly research hours before choosing a product and this was no exception. I really like the product, which mounts my iPhone 6 and here is why: Pros - Attaches to the vent fins very securely but not so secure that it is hard to get off. - The receiver/magnet device stays put even when removing the phone. - When mounted, the iPhone doesn't not jiggle/wobble and stays put even when hitting a bump in the road. - The iPhone is very easy to mount and dismount with a simple lifting motion to the righht or left, rather than straight off of the mount. - Mounted in the vent, I can now reach the phone with my charging cable whereas before, with a windshield mount I couldn't without stringing a long charging cable across my dashboard. - The mount is removable so that I can switch cars or take it with me when I travel using a rental car. - Using a magnet for securing the phone is the best since magnets do not wear out or break, which is the potential for other grip type mounts. - The magnet portion of the mount is on a swivel ball with a screw on locking nut allowing the iPhone to be positioned perfectly. - Did I mention that the iPhone doesn't wobble or jiggle when mounted? (This is huge) - The mount seems to be made of metal and pvc, which is not likely to break. Well made. Cons - There was only one in the package. (just kidding, I can't think of any problems yet)

This is a great product and holds the phone very well. It comes with a couple of metal plates, which you may not even need to use. On a Nexus 5, the phone attaches without the plates. On my other phone, I have a removable back cover, and inserted the plate inside. The metal is very thin and is now perfectly hidden. If you place the plate in the bottom corner, the vent not blocked by the phone! The attachment to the vent works quite well. Just make sure the grill spacing is big enough. On one vehicle the spacing was very close, so couldn't use it. But on my main vehicle, no problems. Very simple to insert, just wedge it on the grill, don't have to worry about any clips.

When I first intended on buying this product I was skeptical that my iPhone 6+ would have trouble hanging on while driving down bumpy roads. Or the magnet would ruin my phone. I work in the oil field and sometimes drive 10-30 miles on some of the roughest roads. I've never had a problem with my phone falling even with my phone not centered properly. The only time I have an issue is driving over intense washboarded roads which causes the phone to turn slightly. I do use a thin case made by spigen that doesn't add much weight or interference with the metal plate. A coworker I referred this product to bought this same magnetic mount and bought a heavy duty case that is pretty bulky and has had issues keeping the phone mounted. I have used this mount in a 2011 Chevy suburban, 1988 Volkswagen GTI, 2008 Audi A4 and never had an issue with the rubber arms losing grip. Haven't had any luck mounting in any of the newer ford trucks with the cog style vents. Very easy, fast, and portable way to mount your phone in many vehicles. This mount also doubles as a phone stand.

This has been one of the greatest accessories I've purchased for my phone, so convenient to attach it this way in the car. In hindsight though I wish I had selected a different option instead of attaching to the air vent, It's hard to keep it stable when attached that way and the phone can jiggle around or even fall out if you turn sharply. Consider other attachment options before going with the air vent option, it may be better to go with a version that attaches directly to the car dash somehow. The magnetic attachment works great though.
