Pretty good little gadget
Works perfectly and with the little lcd screen you can select the item to pair to, which is a must, if like our house, you have a lot of bluetooth items. Handy little hard travel case ideal for when we go on holiday/travel. I’m not able to comment on the sound quality as it is for my teen daughter to watch tv with, but she’s not made any complaints.

A great device to connect your own headphones to aircraft entertainment systems
I bought two of these units for use on a long haul flights, one for myself and one for my gf. They worked brilliantly, allowing us to use our own noise cancelling headphones instead of the poor quality ones provided by the airline. The Bluetooth adaptors are supplied in a neat pouch and come with everything needed to connect to the airline entertainment system plus a usb charging cable. Set up was a breeze with the connection made in seconds on first use. Switch the unit on, set to transmit and put the headphones into pairing mode. The name of the headphones appears on the screen of the adaptor and the connection is made. For subsequent use, the connection is made as soon as headphones and adaptor are switched on. Sound quality is very good. I listened to Talking Heads and AC/DC and could hear a level of detail comparable to when the headphones are connected directly to my phone. Volume was adequate. I watched several TV programmes and films including Gladiator, Napoleon and 32 sounds. Latency was minimal, but just about detectable if I looked for it closely. It was not an issue for normal viewing. The documentary film 32 Sounds provided a good test of performance. The film contains demonstrations of binaural sound effects and these worked perfectly through the Bluetooth adaptor. Battery life is excellent. I used my unit on two consecutive flights totalling around 17 hours with an estimated listening time of 12 - 14 hours. Two bars remained on the battery indicator after this time. I gave both units a brief charge and they were ready for the return journey. These units can be used to stream music from a phone a device with line in. This might be useful in future for music streaming in a hire car. I have not tried this yet so cannot comment on this feature.

Just what I needed
Works brilliantly on the plane and also at home. Very small in size but great value for money, not much audio Lag, when watching a video, buttons are good size considering the size of the device, noise level is good. Would definitely recommend

Goodish
Works OK and does what it should. Construction and connection: Construction is solid. Case does not flex if pressed. Connections and TX/RX switch are recessed so they won't get caught accidentally. While the USB charging lead is adequate, the 3.5mm audio connection lead is, for me, way too short. As the headphone socket on my TV is rather far back at the rear of the unit I found myself having to strain to plug the short lead in. Fortunately, I had a long spare lead which helped. Setup and use: Very easy to use. My judge of an items useability is whether I can set it up and use it without referring to the manual too often and I found the unit easy to get working. Took less than a minute to fathom out how to turn it on and pair it with my JBL headphones. Once I learnt how to do it I can now set things up in a few seconds. However, I think I would probably have to use the instructions for some of the more advanced features. That said, the instruction book is good and understandable. Last. but not least, the display, whilst small, is very readable and gives good feedback. Sound quality: Good and clear. The product claims 'low latency' and I found the claim accurate - with reservations. There is a VERY slight lip synch lag - nothing too bad and is barely noticeable if listening to direct TV broadcasts - and I have noticed that this is a feature of many transmitters. However, watching recordings from a Freeview recorder via HDMI produces a very noticeable lag. Bluetooth connectivity is very stable. I was able to wander around the house and go in the garden without too many problems but I did find some breakups in odd locations. I did have one issue with the left side audio developing a slight hiss but I think that may have been a problem with my headphone as turning them off and on again cured the problem. Overall, I think this is an adequate transmitter that is well made, does what it should and does it passably well. It's easy to set up and use, gives a reasonable connection and works with minimal fuss. The only thing I cannot comment on at this point is battery life as my TV has USB out and the transmitter is under constant power. Given the price, quality and ease of use I would say it's OK value but the recording audio lag does let it down somewhat.

A lot of audio devices, past and present alike, use only wired external audio connections. While "home stereo" systems will often use digital connections or analog RCA jack type connections, smaller (and typically portable) devices use 3.5mm coaxial audio jacks ("headphone jacks") by default, as do many, if not most, computers and tablets. Most more recent ones have pretty good bluetooth available, built-in, as an option. But this is not the case in ever device, and certainly not with many older, but still very serviceable, devices. And note, older versions of Bluetooth are, not surprisingly, of lower overall quality than the more current generations are. From lower audio quality, to more lag, to shorter range... it's been an evolutionary growth from the earliest bluetooth to the most current generation. The market has a lot of one-way bluetooth adapters. I personally own several, both for "audio in" and "audio out" functions. I have a bluetooth-out connected to the optical digital audio out port on a television set I own, for example, and a bluetooth-in device connected to one of the auxiliary-audio-in ports (dual RCA jacks) on my home audio amplifier. But these are neither conveniently portable, nor flexible in terms of what they can do. That's where this device stands out. It's at the latest widely-used bluetooth version (later generations have been developed but not yet really introduced to the market) and is both highly portable and flexible in terms of how it can be used. It basically converts between radio-frequency digital Bluetooth signals and 3.5mm coaxial analog audio plug audio. But it can go either way (though not both simultaneously!), and is not restricted to only one functionality. It works well. I've not experienced any "lag" I can personally detect, though there's probably a BIT of that (more likely than not, measured in milliseconds and thus imperceptable to me or to any actual mortal human!) When used to pick up bluetooth from and convert it into analog audio (for analog-only headphones, etc), the quality is extremely good... indistinguishable, to my ears, from the audio coming directly out through the playback device's analog headphone port to the same headphones. I can't detect any difference whatsoever. Someone with an oscilloscope and a lot of time MIGHT be able to find something, but I certainly can't. Going the other way... in my case, picking up bluetooth from my cell phone and, through a 3.5mm-to-RCA-jack adapter cable, going to my home theater system's amplifier... again, I can't hear any difference from when I go directly from my phone's 3.5mm jack to the amplier. I cannot detect any lag, I cannot detect any reduction in audio quality. In essence, as far as I'm able to tell, this is every bit as good as any hard-wired connection I could hope for. Yes, it's an additional device, which isn't as convenient as top-quality bluetooth built right in to both devices at both ends of the connection. But it's small and easily carried, and thus the inconvenience is minimal. The only issue I can't really address is whether this will continue to work as well as it has so far, longer-term. Some electronic devices "wear out" over time... poor chip design, poor thermal management, etc... and I can't really comment on the long-term life of the device. But if it continues to work as well, long-term, as it has so far in my limited useage... I can recommend it unconditionally.
