An Eternal Grip Strengthener, Spend The Money and Never Buy Another
The quality on this strength trainer is phenomenal. It’s mostly metal, the silicone grip is soft and helpful, the adjustable options are amazing, and the stand makes it almost an ornament or decoration in a room. The power this thing holds is insane too! It goes real high and I know I can train with this for a LONG time. I have no worries about it breaking in my hands like cheaper, louder grips. This one is smooth, quiet, and powerful. If you want a quality grip strength training too, this one has 5/5 quality for sure and is worth the money.

Beautiful Tank
Not saying anything new here, but just to echo other reviews with my experience: this thing is a beautiful tank. Very smooth, very sturdy, and very effective. Like others, I was about to buy more of the $7 cheap plastic ones that threaten to throw springs and plastic in your face when they inevitably explode, when I saw the Iron Grip. I took some time to try and figure out which model (80 or 90) and whether I wanted the extensions and stand base. Decided to go with the 80 with the extension. I have medium glove hands, so as others have said, I didn’t need the extensions for comfort. However, this thing has some serious resistance and only 6 slots, and I’ve found that the extensions are great for working up to a new weight. You can start all the way down at the extensions with your grip which makes it a bit easier, then progressively move upwards on the handles towards the spring, making it harder. The 90 was tempting as it offers higher resistance, but honestly I don’t know if I’ll ever make it that far. Not using this for any weight lifting competitions, just strengthening my hand decades after metacarpal surgery, and generally strengthening my arms, so I won’t need nearly 200lbs of resistance. But if I do, this thing is so gorgeous and well made, I’d be more than happy to pony up again, this time for the big boy.

Amazing quality, amazing versatility. Must buy for grip training enthusiasts
Just unboxed this and tried it out, so this is an initial review. The quality of this gripper is phenomenal. Definitely a well made piece. Puts competitors to shame, which is fairly hard to do given the simplicity of what hand grippers are. 1) it’s silent. I have several Captains of Crush grippers and they develop a squeak that can get annoying. 2) Decent range of difficulty. This replaces the Captains of Crush Guide through the 1.5. 3) Easily adjustable. I have other adjustable grippers with wider range, but they involve moving two heavy springs to random spots. Those spots aren’t indicated and usually require an internet search to determine what the resulting difficulty amounts to. But, they lack other adjustments.... 4) adjustable width. The gripper can be adjusted to hand size. My CoC grippers are just past the limit of comfort for my medium hands. This becomes an issue when progressing up a difficulty level. I find myself with a weird angle in my wrist. This leads to wrist pain that eventually starts to negatively affect my grip training and other exercises (think bicep curls). This is a HUGE improvement for me. 5) In-line handles. Has a better feel AND helps prevent the angling of the wrist I mentioned. 6) The handles themselves feel great. Plenty of texture for traction but the actual checkering isn’t sharp. New Captain of Crush grippers usually have a sharp texture that’s rough on hands until you break them in. I work in the medical field so keeping my hands relatively smooth is appreciated. Not to mention potentially compromising my skins integrity can put me at risk in said environment. This is a great gripper that replaces six $20 grippers if you use CoC grippers. The handles can also be adjusted down by removing set screws. This givens a little more leverage when working on going from one stage to the next. Definitely worth every penny at $50. If you’re big into grip training you owe it to yourself to try this gripper. Unless something changes this is replacing my beloved CoC grippers

One of the best grippers!
This is a great quality gripper! Heavy build but sturdy and will last a lifetime. Easy to use and to adjust between resistances. I am up to 75 lbs. after a month, working to get up another notch for 10+ reps. I don't foresee getting to point where the resistance is below my strength. Grip is knurled so it can be a bit uncomfortable. I added the padded grip to these, very well worth it. Straight bars are still a bit awkward at times, but that may just be me. Well worth the higher price, my trust in the other options out there was slim so glad I paid the extra for these!

Solid Build Quality
I’ve used many hand grippers in the past, and every single one eventually broke, either the spring snapped or the grip wore out. So, I was looking for a reliable, branded option and found this one. I was hesitant at first because of the price, but I ordered it anyway, and honestly, I’m impressed. The build quality is solid, and it even comes with a holder, which is surprisingly useful. A few things to keep in mind before buying: This thing is heavy. I’m a healthy, average‑built person, and I still can’t get past the lowest setting yet (I’m sure I will eventually). The coarse aluminum grip is rough on the hands, so you might want silicone covers or sleeves. This is real exercise equipment, not a toy or a simple stress‑relief gadget. Overall, it’s a serious, well‑built gripper that feels like it will last forever !.

Extremely Good.
I got both the GD80 and GD90 because I couldn't find a comparison anywhere. The reality is: 1- GD90 has more metal and just feels better on the hand. The spring is considerably stronger. (More details below) 2- GD90 comes with a stand and extensions (not needed unless you have really big hands or want specific exercises) Now, lest discuss. These hand grippers are really good, in fact, they are excellent. I've used CoC for years and these feel just as solid while being able to have multiple pressures in one unit, a welcome change to carrying around 2 or 3 grippers before. The knurling on these is softer than CoC as well. I also appreciate you can choose the width because everyone on my family can use these. Why choose the GD90? Because you want the stronger metal or want the whole package, honestly? For 97% of people the GD80 is the way to go!

Higher quality than you think, and a better grip tool overall
Glad I believed the good reviews. All the reviews that sing praises are accurate. All solid metal. Grips with good tack but not sharp. Super easy to adjust resistance. Lots of resistance options, which is why I bought this over the others. Can also use the adjustable grip size to add 2 functional additional resistance levels, within each setting. Overall slightly bigger than the CoC gripper, see pic. A much better tool for grip strength than a single resistance gripper.

Absolutely solid construction and high quality. Know which version you want.
Amazing construction and build quality. All metal (tiny caveat, see below). Knurling feels too aggressive, feel like they should've gone with hill rather than mountain style knurling. Fixed with tennis racket grip tape. Very convenient adjustment mechanism. Just wish the increments were smaller. There are different versions out there, as they made several improvements over the years. But the descriptions weren't very clear. I know the product pictures illustrate the differences, but that isn't always the case because sometimes they'll show discrepancies like showing a 2022 version in one place and 2024 in another. And most of the reviewer pictures out there are using grip tape which covers up most of the handle, so I took two pics of my own and found another one on ebay illustrating the differences. As you can see in the pictures, the latest 2024 version is very clean all around, has no black exposed bolts on the handles like some of the videos or promotional pictures out there. As far as I can tell from looking at various images, the upgrades they made are 2020 = exposed eclips on the end caps 2022 = all metal end caps, but with exposed black bolt holes on the handle 2024 version with extensions, both IG 80 and IG 90 = all metal end caps with no exposed bolt holes on handles, spring with a more rectangular cross section (feels slightly stiffer even at equal ratings) 2024 IG 80 light = black plastic spring end cap, spring has circular cross section The ~$50 IG 80 Light is all metal but with black plastic end caps on the springs, and the spring is rounder. The ~$75 IG 80 with handle extensions come is ALL metal with metal end caps, and uses a spring with a rectangular cross section. The 'squarer' spring on the GD80 feels slightly stiffer than the one on the GD80 light even at the same weight, though I haven't measured.

AMAZING DEVICE
Absolutely incredible purchase. The handles are incredibly sturdy, this thing was built to last. But it’s almost mandatory to get the tape with it as the abrasive metal is too course for most hands. Super easy to change weight for it as well!

Excellent Quality
Very well made, easy adjustments, and silent operation. I really like the included stand. I set the hand gripper in the stand on my office desk and it reminds me to use the gripper throughout the day. Otherwise, as the saying goes, out of sight, out of mind. The knurling in the handle is quite uncomfortable and taping is advised. I suggest using the handle extenders and taping to within 1.5 inches from the handle bottom. Otherwise, the stand cannot be used. The tape that is specifically sold for this device is very expensive. For now, I have used hockey tape, but a little more cushion would be better. I may try the tennis racket tape that I have somewhere around the house. My only wish is that the gripper have one tension level below the minimum of 25 kg. 25 kg is already quite firm and a lower tension would be better if one hand is recovering from an injury. Other than that, it seems to be a very well-made and well designed device.

Good, but rough handles
Bought it as a gift. Feedback was that besides the rough grips, which could be engineered smoother, it is a very solid hand grip.
