USB Fingerprint Reader for Windows | Windows Hello & 10/11, Auto Driver Install, 5ft Cable, Password-Free Login

BEWARE, READ UPDATE BELOW! So far so good. I think it is important to note that this is not a swipe fingerprint scanner, you pick up your finger and just place it down on the reader for this one. I had some trouble at first because I did not realize that and was swiping and it was have a lot of trouble. Once I started just placing my finger, it has worked pretty much every time with the occasional misread (maybe once or twice in a week of heavy computer use). For the price, I would say it is pretty solid. I tried really hard to like this thing. It worked reasonably well at first, but the performance has degraded quickly to the point where the product is no longer usable. Of course it happened outside the refund period so they will be able to steal my money.

Singlehandedly the most worthless piece of trash I have ever purchased on Amazon. This things performance is worse than an Apple product designed to break on you from the start. It literally does not recognize your fingerprint at all, no matter how many times you re register. And even if it does let you in ONCE, it forgets your fingerprint the very next time you lock the computer. Out of the 20+ times i need to lock and re-lock my device during a work day this thing works less than 2 times, if at all. Every single attempt has not worked in almost a week. Whether you have lotion on or not, whether your hand is cold or warm, it literally does not recognize your fingerprint. Worthless garbage by a worthless company.

This USB fingerprint reader is amazing. It locks in my fingerprint instantly and unlocks Windows 10 in a fraction of a second—no more typing passwords every time I sit down at my computer. The setup was super easy; it installed drivers automatically and worked right out of the box. The scanner is very responsive and accurate, even with slightly dry or wet fingers. It’s small, lightweight, and doesn’t take up much space on my USB port. The build quality feels solid and durable. For the price, this is a huge upgrade in both security and convenience. If you use Windows 10 and want a reliable, fast fingerprint login, this is the one to get. Highly recommend it.

Its kind of spotty or unreliable as a fingerprint scanner as I continue to keep swiping my finger to get it to read on Windows 10 I may just need it rescan my fingers at home. Setup was a breeze, and it immediately worked at the lock screen to log me into the desktop. So glad I really wanted this for my desk.

First the positive: this product works well. I really have no complaints at all when it comes to functionality, especially considering it was the cheapest one I could find. My only complaint is that, seemingly at random but with depressing regularity, the device fails to start and an error appears in the device manager. Physically unplugging and replugging the cable fixes the problem. I think I have traced the issue to the fact that my USB hub remains powered even when the attached computer sleeps, which somehow messes up the process of reloading the drivers on wake-from-sleep. The driver in the MS Catalog is the most current, but hasn't been updated since October 2021 (more than five years at the time of this review). I continue to hunt for solutions, but may try another device with a more sophisticated driver if I can't solve it..

It was not the entering of the password I'd save for a specific site, it was having to prove it was me two or three time that it really was me who entered the password. I do appreciate that the online sites I do business with are really making an effort to keep me and others safe. But! Over the years I've wondered why our "high tech" geniuses couldn't come up with a better process to keep us safe and allow access. Then the lightbulb lit as bright as the sun. Well, maybe they have. I decided to be proactive at my end, and not waste more time and find that alternative. I got an easy to use desktop USB finger print unit. The cord is about three feet. The scanner is about 2 1/2 x 1 1/2 inches. This finger scanner did not have a manufacturer name, only the store's name, Focket Store. There was no driver to install , the price was reasonable and it arrived when expected. Take note: not all the pictures belong with the finger print unit I'm reviewing. The third from last picture is not with this reader. In short: It is easy to use, works off UBS, long cord, no driver, and reasonably priced for home or small office use.

It works, and works well. If you are having issues, change your USB port. If it works, then don't worry about the driver. If your computer is powered down and the red light on the fingerprint reader does not turn off, the USB port is still powered on; you will need to adjust your power settings in the BIOS to power down the USB ports when the machine is off. This will fix the issue of the scanner not working upon boot. As others have said, this is not a swipe reader, so don't swipe across it and expect it to work. Place your finger straight down onto it, and roll it left or right. If it still doesn't read correctly, clean the reader with a dry cloth, and make sure your hands are clean & dry.

First the positives: arrived quickly and directions were acceptable, fairly easy to setup Negatives: The drivers did not load automatically at first on either Windows 10 or Windows 11 machines (tried 4 two of each), in all cases it required going to windows update and getting optional drivers after a bit of time. Next issue is that the fingerprint reader will read only perfect slides through reader, windows hello required PIN before successfully reading fingerprint (because of multiple failures) most time. The only success was holding the reader with two other fingers to have a consistent read. I am returning, recommend people buy a better product from a known brand.

Funktioniert fehlerfrei. Jedoch billigstes Plastik in der Verarbeitung. Bei den Preis hätte ich eine bessere, hochwertigere Qualität erwartet. Herstellungkosten unter 5,- würde ich mal schätzen. Aber was solls, wurde von Windows 11 sofort erkannt (ohne Treiberinstallation) und funktioniert einwandfrei.

It was a little fussy setting it up

Wanted to try out Windows Hello on my Windows 11 for Workstation and it was just to go into the computer configuration and choose the reader and get the driver. After that just follow the instruction for Windows Hello. Now I’m thinking of getting a Windows Hello camera since the one I got isn’t IR and that’s what Windows Hello wants. O boy, I wish I knew about this fingerprint reader when I had a 12 character password that I had to change every month… Everything is so much easier with “gadgets” that simplify the everyday usage. There are probably much better readers out there, but this one was enough for me.

Génial vraiment super facile à installer je n'ai rien eu à faire, reconnu très facilement sur W11 deux personnes configuré d'un seul coup bravo et merci Amazon.
