Great barefoot-style shoes
These are great barefoot-style shoes. These are very lightweight and flexible with no cushion, and they conform well to your feet. I introduced barefoot shoes into my collection many years ago, but gave up after my favorites kept getting discontinued. For reference, my most recent go-to shoe for running, lifting, and other activities has been the Altra Escalante 4. The Xeros have been great for lifting and HIIT-- I haven't yet tried to run in them because I'm trying to give my body time to adjust, plus they don't seem like they'd be very warm in the current cold weather. As for sizing, I have the same HFS size as my Altras, size 7. This is the same size as my "fashion" sneaker size (vans, converse), and a half size larger than my dress shoe size, which is generally a 6.5. You may not need to size up from a standard running shoe because of the wider toe box. I have fairly narrow feet and had to tighten them quite a bit, so they should work for people with wider feet as well. They tighten well without bunching up, if your feet are on the narrower side. If you have really wide feet, you may want to try the Xero Prio. I tried those as well but they are stiffer and more boxy, so ended up returning them and keeping the HFS. My only complaint not worth docking a star for is that the laces are pretty stiff, but I still haven't had any major issues with them coming untied. You may need some time for them to loosen up/stretch to conform to your feet. Overall I am extremely happy with the HFS, and these have become my go-to for all athletic activity other than running (hoping to add running in too at some point).

Wow - Happy Toes at Last!
Comfort! I grew up wearing extremely narrow shoes which means that I mangled my feet while being young and stylish. The last few years have made that error ever so obvious. I finally gave in and bought wider shoes. Oops - still too tight around my toes. When I found these shoes on Amazon I ordered in hope that they were an answer. And are they ever! Balance issues have grown over the last few years and I bought shoes that would support this and that of foot structure. When I put these shoes on I was not expecting to feel wonderful - they fit, my feet fell in love with them immediately, and my toes think that they are finally free. The barefoot sole is wonderful - I will have more of these on order right now.

Size and style matter story (short version at end)
I have a pair of these already and really like everything about them except they are too big. Enough that I figured a half size down would be perfect. But, I thought a different style would be great. So I got the Kelso in an 8. Way too small. So, ordered an 8.5 in Kelso and an 8 in HFS II thinking one of them was bound to work. Alas, I was wrong. The Kelso fit, but I found them very uncomfortable, almost as though there was a lump under my foot. Ahh, but I had a backup plan. HFS II in an 8, pulled them on, wanted to scream because they were too small. Compared them to my 8.5s, and they were the .5 in shorter that I expected. Why weren't they perfect?! After comparing and changing from shoe to shoe, realized the rubber toe cap was the issue. The 8.5, although too big, allowed my toe to hit before it started, in the 8, my toe was just into the rubber cap and it squished my toe, making the shoe feel too small. I might be able to get used to it, but I'm not willing to try. The 8s are going back. Short version, style seems to drive the physical length of the shoe. A longer shoe (even in your usual size) might mean a more comfortable shoe. My HFS II look a little weird to me because the are too long, but they are really comfortable and the wide toe box has been great for my slightly misshapen foot.

Finally! Sizing right.
Finally! I got the right size. These shoes are as flexible, soft, and comfortable as I knew they would be, but omg, getting the size right was quite the journey. I have more Xero shoes than I can count from the past decade. But, for some reason, I had to get a half size smaller for these. Xero shoes wrote me and said that the rule of thumb is that 1/4 inch is half a size down and 1/2” is a whole size down. Not true. I first ordered from Amazon, which was double the price from Xero’s own site. I thought the long shoe must be a mistake, so I sent them back and got the same very long shoe half price from Xero, themselves. My normal size was way too long. Then of course, Xero sold out in their Black Friday sale, so of course no shoe to exchange. So, I went back to the overpriced (more than double) Amazon shoe and ordered a whole size down. Way too small, dear God. I patiently ordered again, and wallah, here I am this evening with the perfect half size down from my normal size. Thank you, Amazon for still having them, when Xero’s site does not. I paid double, but my spine will be very happy with how easily my feet and hips move in these. And, thank you Xero, that these shoes are not purple. Amazon and Xero show them as a god-awful black to purple. They are a classy black to grey that does not clash with my green pants, brown pants, red shirts, Christmas socks…..worth the long journey to happy feet.

Looks good feels great!!
I was so wary about these but they are awesome! They feel secure and comfortable and the colors look better in person. I also ordered another pair of a different type of this brand, the knit, and those are more like the feather light sock-type for different purposes. I far prefer these (which are still very lightweight) for an everyday and fitness- their fit and secure feel! Love them

Used shoes
These shoes are well worn. They are not new. The soles are discolored and full of dirt. I will be returning them.

Literally buy them they’re amazing
If you’re questioning whether you should buy these or not, don’t. Literally the best shoes I’ve ever put. I used to get numbness in my pinky toe because my shoes were too narrow for my feet. With these my feet actually feel spaced out. Super cute and small profile shoes. Feel so light weight and breathable. Good for walking, weightlifting, running, standing. Fit perfect according to my correct size. Don’t need to be broken in at all. My toes can move and bend completely upon first wear.

Finally a pair that fits after trying about 5 pairs so far. They're terrible with sizing. I'm ordinarily a size 2.5, let's say 3 for trainers. I ended up with size 5. Size 5 feels like size 3 to me. I didn't mind ordering and returning so many because I really liked the style and I was determined to find the right size for me. Performance wise they are really good. It's what you want from a walking/running shoe, plenty of space for the toes, zero drop and fine overall padding to make sure your feet don't get hurt on different terrain, good ventilation on the top due to the mesh. Hopefully they'll last for a while.

Top! Sehr gut auch für breite Füße mit hohem Rist und Zehe die alle fast gleich lang sind. Mein Sohn verwendet sie als Hallenschuhe im Turnunterricht.

Excellent shoes! I’ve been teaching my fitness classes successfully without any foot or Knee pain!! In fact they are helping correct a long term issue of knee pain! Zero drop wide toe box shoes work!! I would definitely buy these again. They are comfortable cute looking and excellent design fitting my size 7 perfectly!
