Outward Hound Tough Skinz Durable Squeaky Dog Toy with Two Tough Layers, Watermelon, Red, Medium

This is quite literally one of the only toys we can leave with our puppy as both an interactive and self-play chew toy. Our small puppy (<20lbs) destroys every plush and latex toy in minutes. Has no interest in playing alone with durable toys like Kong and gets bored of them if we don’t play with them interactively. This satisfies our dog’s needs to chew on toys and keeps her entertained when we want a break but also quickly becomes a beloved interactive toy we can play fetch with. Yes, eventually our doggo destroys it as expected since we are using to both as a chew and interactive toy but it takes quite a while and we are very satisfied and impressed. This one stands the test of time.

I have a pit mix who is an expert-level destroyer of squeaky toys. Most “durable” toys last her maybe 5–15 minutes before the squeaker is gone. This one lasted a full HOUR of play (constant squeaking, chewing, and trying to find a weak spot) and she still didn’t manage to break it. That’s honestly unheard of for her. What I like: The flat shape makes it hard for her to get a good “kill grip” The squeaker isn’t easy to isolate and destroy It keeps her engaged instead of just ripping it open immediately She actually spent a lot of time just booping it with her nose to make it squeak, which she loves. I ended up putting it away before she could eventually destroy it, and I’ll be rotating it to make it last longer. It’s now a high-value toy in our house. If you have a dog that destroys every squeaky toy in minutes, this is absolutely worth trying. I’m already planning to buy more from this line.

Our 100 lb. mastiff mix is a super chewer. Every Christmas (which is also her birthday) we buy her one stuffed toy to destroy under close supervision. Otherwise, she’s not allowed to have them because we don’t need a bowel obstruction in our lives. That said, I don’t know if it’s due to maturing (she just turned 4) or this toy being especially well designed, but Mr. Avocado is the first stuffed, squeaky toy she hasn’t destroyed in the first day of having it. Though…she received a stuffed, squeaky reindeer around the same time, and immediately chewed the squeaker out of THAT toy, so I’d say it’s this toy’s smart design! More great things about this toy: • Seams are solid and well reinforced • It’s flat and somewhat firm, so it’s hard/impossible for them to get hold of the squeaker inside and chew it out • The flat design also makes it easier to grab it out of their mouths, which, if your dog likes to play keep-away instead of fetch like ours does, makes it a little easier for you to get and throw, keeping them engaged • The squeaker is satisfying to her, but not obnoxiously loud…though it was loud enough to squeak and trick her into coming inside at the end of the night when she was barking and being a turkey (hehe) • Seems like it’ll wash well, which is nice because it’s now her constant companion and she drags it outside Overall, this is a really fun toy for her. I think it’s going to last us a while! Would recommend if you have a large dog who loves to chew. Whenever this one wears out—which doesn’t seem soon—I will be buying another.

I bought this toy hoping that it would fare better than the million other toys my dog has destroyed within seconds. Alas, it did not. He was SUPER excited when we opened it for him on Christmas, but in less than 5 minutes, he had chewed a significant hole in the head and was systematically ripping out the plastic innards. *sigh* I really wanted this one to work and for less aggressive chewers, it might! Unfortunately, our dog is too aggressive a chewer for ANY "soft" toys no matter the "durable" claims. 4 stars for construction for it WAS well made. But I cannot give a full 5 stars since it couldn't withstand my dog's chompers.

My dog destroys literally every toy that’s not a ball I’ve ever gotten her in minutes to a few days. This one is holding strong longer than others for sure. The stitching is usually the weak spot she finds on most toys but this one is made very well and hasn’t lost a thread yet. It provides great play time and she loves carrying it around with her.

My puppy destroys average squeaky toys in a matter of hours. This one is sturdy, even the outer cover has hung in there for a couple of months. My dog will strip a tennis ball naked in hours but has barely made a dent in the cover on this one! It’s cute and fun too. It even comes with a patch! Highly recommend!

This product is pretty strong, but my dog tore it apart in 5 minutes. The size is great, and my dog loved tearing it apart. I wish it lasted longer.

Love the outward hound tough skinz. They are durable enough got my pit bull to chew and have fun. She cant have any other type of material toy, cause she destroys them and eats the inside. Note: eventually she can end up destroying it if in the mood.

Our dog is an active chewer. She is determined to get the squeaker out, no matter what! This toy is the only one that she cannot figure out or dismantle. The only long term toy to consider.
