Initially, I had a Kobo Libra Colour, but found that it was a bit too large for my liking. While I did love the buttons, I just wanted something a bit smaller and lighter. The color screen was a must, so there weren't a lot of options. I gave this a try, and am more than pleased with it.It's about the size of a basic Kindle. Looks almost just like one, although the corners aren't as rounded, and obviously, it says "Kobo" across the front, rather than "Kindle." It's got 16 gigs of storage - more than enough for a library's worth of books if you don't have manga - and a decent color screen.Now, I say "decent," because it is e-ink, not because this device has a poor display. It's never going to be as bright or vibrant as an LCD, that's just the nature of the display type. But it still looks good for color panels in comic books and manga, and book covers as well. Not to mention, you can make annotations in different colors, for organization.The user interface is very simple to use. It shows you what you need to know, and nothing you don't. I find it much easier to navigate than stock Kindle software. I'd intended to install KOReader on it, but I have no need to. The base software works great for me. You can only use dark mode when you're actually reading a book, however, so the interface will always be in light mode otherwise. Not a huge deal, but a little disappointing nonetheless.You can actually add custom screensavers to your Kobo pretty easily, too. Just plug it into a computer, open the folder labeled, ".kobo," make a new folder in there called, "screensaver," and then put your screen savers in. It will randomly select one every time you put the device to sleep. You may need to increase the brightness and saturation if you want colors to show up clearly, but it's still a nice feature for customization!Not to mention how easy it is to sideload books onto it. Especially with Calibre. Effortless to put all your books on it. Plus, the store interface is pretty easy to use as well. You can also use Overdrive to get books rented from your local library onto it as well. There's no way to run out of things to read, really.Battery life is great, if you turn off bluetooth and wifi. I've been reading like crazy - have read a couple 400+ page novels with it over the past couple weeks - and it's still at 75% battery. I have my brightness a bit lower, so that definitely contributes, but still. You will get a lot of life out of this thing.Overall, I think this is a wonderful ereader. I would highly recommend it to anyone looking to get into color ereaders without breaking the bank.

I love my clara color!! I have a libra color too but first I had a kindle paperwhite.Love the fact you can highlight in other colors! The brightness you can change with a swipe on the side of your page. helps when the sun setting and you need it brighter or at night time when you need it more dim. the light doesnt bother my partner aside of me sleeping.I love that its waterproof and I can read in the pool or in the hottub or even the bath! Next is the beach!The battery lasts over a month. I barely have to charge it!Its very responsive compared to kindle.Its reliable enough its my travel e-reader of choice!Another plus side to this is that I can hook up my library card to be able to borrow books right from OverDrive! (we got my friends kid one for her birthday!).only con i have, is you cannot email documents or epubs straight to the device like you can with kindle. You have to hook it up to your computer and use Calibre to upload those documents or files you want to add. But you can also buy right from kobo itself or even sign up for a kobo version of "kindle unlimited".

I bought this for my girlfriend and realized it wasn’t the one that allows for Drive and Dropbox connections, but instead of returning it I kept it for myself. Best decision I’ve ever made. I cannot live without this thing. Battery life is outstanding, lasts forever. Is extremely light weight, so you don't get tired using it. Screen is nice, just like paper and also has dark mode. And it is basically plug and play.

I absolutely love this ebook reader. Like any ebook reader, it helps me focus on the activity of reading.Where this really shines on the hardware side:- The color cover of the book you’re currently reading (along with progress) triggers me to pick up and read again. I’m reading a lot more than I did before getting this reader.- The location of the button to wakeup the device is perfectly placed to allow for me to grab it and start reading, all one handed.On the software side:- The wakeup feature is lightning quick. I can squeeze in a quick read, regardless of how little time I have.- The colored highlighting incentivizes me to highlight even more than I would normally.- I like to read more than one book at a time and swiping and switching takes a couple seconds, which is enjoyable.- The ebook format compatibility is second-to-none.- Using overdrive is a breeze.The only con that the book store is a little lacking. I would 110% buy again.

Have had this for 2-3 months and love it.Love the way colors show up on it, perfect for me as i have sensitive eyes. Brightness is perfect.Size is perfect as i can carry it around without too much hassle.Battery life is also impressive as it lasts me a week or 2 without having to charge it.Its a bit slow to respond but not to the point its is annoying.Definitely recommend for an e -reader that is not too expensive but still very easy to use

I love mine! I’ve had it since April of this year, the only thing is, I wish I would have bought the warranty. Today, some of the text was looking a bit faded. I thought it was my eyes, but nope. It’s only really evident when the back light is on. But I love the battery life, portability, and speed of it! It’s a great little device! Also, as a former Kindle user, it’s on the smaller side of e-readers. And it’s comfortable to hold with one hand! I HAD a pop socket on it, but my pup retaliated after I brushed her teeth…. Buy this, and you’ll likely read more. It’s my travel buddy, and I’ve reached my reading goal already for the year!

I love my ereader! Perfect size. Anti glare screen works great. Responsiveness is sometimes a little slow but otherwise it works great.

I have been absolutely OBSESSED with my Kobo! After finally taking the plunge into e-readers (and giving my eyes a break from screens), I couldn’t be happier with this choice. I went with Kobo because I already had a large library of EPUB files, and it’s been so easy to use. It connects to my computer like a regular USB drive- just drag and drop your files.As a first-time e-reader owner, I also want to share that the free Calibre app has been incredibly helpful for converting and sending files. Another feature I love is the adjustable lighting/dimming strip along the left edge! It makes it so easy to change the brightness wherever I am, even when reading in the dark. The device also remembers exactly where you left off, so picking up your book again is seamless. I can’t wait to keep discovering more books on it!

In love with the kobo. It’s what I expected and more. Zero technical issues and I’d say it’s worth the money considering it has a coloured screen - which is very enjoyable. I personally had no issues with the “graininess” that people talk about, possibly because it’s my first e-reader and I had nothing to compare it to, apart from my phone, but I didn’t notice anything. It’s very easy to use and the power button is placed very conveniently (as opposed to some e-readers lol). The battery life is GREAT and the brightness is also amazing - outside in the sun I could keep it at 0% and inside I usually put it at about 15%. You can adjust the brightness by swiping up and down on the left of the screen which is very handy and doesn’t interrupt reading time. The kobo itself is lightweight and small so it’s very portable - I recommend the kobo magnetic case as it can put the kobo to sleep if you close the case - very handy. Overall I love it and there are no ads on the powered off screen - either blank or it can show your book cover which is cute. 100% recommend over any other e-reader!!!!

Tout un achat cette liseuse. Petite mais combien efficace. Facile à initialiser, simplement placer la caméra de votre téléphone sur le code barre et voilà le travail se fait et tous vos livres se transfèrent de votre compte Kobo à votre liseuse. Vous êtes prêt à lire vos livres. Un plus, la couleur du surligneur et pour vos jaquettes de livres aussi. En somme un petit bijoux de technologie ,cette liseuse est petite facile à ranger dans vos sacs à main. Conviviale, elle remplace très bien ma première liseuse qui m’a suivi partout depuis 15 ans. Celle-ci voyagera aussi avec moi partout.

I purchased my first Kobo E-Reader in 2019 and pretty much got 5 solid years use of almost daily use and LOTS of travel to and from work (trains) and holidays before problems became worse and worse ( kept freezing, slow to load) so it was time for a new one in 2025What I liked?- Kobo doesn’t lock you into one particular ecosystem and gives you the flexibility to add EPUB , MOBI and PDF files to the device- USB C charger port is a game changer for me as my Apple devices are all USBC and I can easily use existing charging cables- The new model has a robust LARGE On Off button unlike the old model with it’s tiny button on the bottom which eventually becomes a challenge to use- Colour I guess is good but for me it’s not a big deal I simply want an ereader to use on the goNegatives?- I think the price paid for a simple Ereader is a little over the odds for what you actually get but for me personally it’s worth every centPeppertree Verdict?✅ Winner!! The only EReader you’ll ever needEasy 5 Stars
