I'm finally able to be a disc user!
I have never been able to wear tampons. I would pass out attempting to insert them...😂. So I been a pad-only girl for years. Even after getting married (which is when I thought I could maybe handle the tampon thing), but it just never happened. Now that I've given birth to three babies, I'm a little more willing to try something new. Periods with reusable pads are a bloody mess and these kids got questions I just ain't ready to fully answer yet, but I can understand why they want to know why it looks like a murder scene in the toilet with bloody pads draining into the diaper pail (which leads to the toilet). So I tried the Pixie cup and ultimately decided it wasn't for me because I could still feel it in there and I couldn't NOT think about it. The disc seemed very intimidating because of how high up it gets inserted. I tried it anyway, but since I don't love getting all up in my business like that, I could never get it 100% right. I have no desire to feel my cervix and I couldn't get it back far enough on my own. Tucking the disc behind the pubic bone was my limit, but the disc would ultimately turn sideways on me after a couple of hours. I was beginning to give up hope when the applicator was introduced! It makes sense for tampon users 😂 and probably feels intuitive to some people. It's not that hard to use and lube definitely helps. Once you get the angle of insertion correct, it's basically done! This tool has accomplished for me what I could not do on my own, and I'm so grateful for it! It's day one of my cycle and I can't feel the disc at all and I'm not leaking...well, maybe from my eyes a bit because I'm so happy that the applicator helped me figure this out after trying and failing for many cycles. It works great!

Menstrual Disc Applicator – A Game Changer for Ease & Comfort!
I can honestly say that switching from traditional tampons to menstrual discs has always been something I’ve wanted to try, but I was seriously intimidated by the idea of inserting a disc. The thought of trying to get the positioning right without making a mess or feeling uncomfortable had me hesitant for a while. But then I discovered the **Menstrual Disc Applicator**, and WOW, this product completely changed the game for me! First off, I have to admit I was a little nervous to even try it. I’ve always used tampons, and the idea of switching to a disc felt a bit... overwhelming. But as soon as I used the applicator, all those fears melted away. It’s SO easy to use, and it made the whole insertion process feel just like using a tampon. No awkward maneuvering, no mess, and absolutely no stress. The applicator is designed to help you insert the menstrual disc comfortably and securely. It guides the disc into place exactly where it needs to be, and I was able to do it in one smooth, quick motion. It’s super intuitive, even for someone who’s never used a disc before! The feeling of the disc once it’s in place is also surprisingly comfortable. I barely felt it, which is such a relief. The applicator helps with that perfect fit that I was worried I wouldn't get on my own. I could go about my day without even thinking about it, which was a huge plus. What I love most about this product is the *confidence* it gives me. I no longer have to worry about insertion techniques or dealing with leaks, and I can enjoy all the benefits of the menstrual disc without the stress. It’s honestly been a game changer for me, and I can’t recommend it enough to anyone who's been hesitant to make the switch from tampons or pads. If you’ve been curious about menstrual discs but were worried about the insertion process—this applicator is exactly what you need to make that transition smooth and easy. I’m officially a convert, and I’m so glad I gave it a try! I seriously cannot wait to try more of Pixie’s products! --- (PS - if you haven’t already, I would also highly recommend this company’s TENS unit for menstrual cramps!)

Game Changer!
This applicator is a game-changer! I had always wanted to try a more sustainable solution compared to tampons, but I was hesitant due to insertion difficulties and some anatomy challenges. Finding this applicator is what inspired me to finally try, and also motivated me to choose Pixie over other brands out there. At the time of purchase, I had long nails, but even without the long nails. I knew I'd struggle to insert a disc. The applicator definitely helps. I'm still getting used to it, but (as other reviews have said) Pixie support via email and YouTube videos has been hugely helpful, and there is the size guarantee as an added safety net. When I first opened the box, I was a little nervous about the size, but it was nothing to worry about! It is larger than a super tampon applicator, but it hasn't caused me any issues. For that applicator, sometimes the pieces don't slide as easily due to their material, however, if you use a tiny bit of lube as they recommend, they slide much more easily. Since you can leave the disc in for up to 12h, I make sure to apply it at home, so that I have everything on hand. Cleaning is very easy and takes seconds! If I needed to travel, the little carrier makes it more portable, but I haven't crossed that bridge yet. There is one tip that would have helped me starting out - when you enter the two pieces into each other, there is a little ridge that will click when they go together. Click it in BEFORE you try to insert! Before I realized this, I was confused at why it was taking so much force and still getting stuck. As long as you click when you put the 2 pieces together with the disc inside, insertion will be MUCH smoother sailing! The biggest improvement I would recommend (as has been suggested by some other reviews) is to add a bit more of a wide base of the plunger where your finger pushes to insert. When adding lube as recommended, this thing gets slippery and with the silicone, it can be a little hard to hold it still and push the plunger. Having a wider, flat base would make it easier for me to hold it still and get the leverage to push and insert. Despite this suggestion, and the fact that it takes some time to get used to, I am so thankful for this product. It has totally unblocked me from trying the discs that I've wanted to try for so long! Would definitely recommend to try this! Here's to my 2025 resolution of not using any disposable period products!

Great beginner disc applicator
I was a little concerned about the size of the Pixie Menstrual Disc Applicator at first, but the insertion process actually was easy and painless. It felt much smoother than I expected, though I think it might be a bit tricky for younger women who are less familiar with similar products. The price is reasonable, and I really think it’s a quality product overall. I tried both sizes of my discs, and both fit well, though I did have some difficulty pushing the larger disc out. The applicator could use a bigger area to grip onto while pushing it up because it gets a bit slippery, and that is the only thing I would change. The design itself is well thought out. It even has a built-in storage container, which is a nice touch. The material where the disc sits feels like the same material as the disc itself, which makes it less plasticky and far more comfortable to insert. It even has a spot for the tail that is on their discs. This applicator has honestly made it possible for me to use discs when, in the past, I struggled to get them up far enough. Overall, I’m really happy with it and will definitely recommend it. My only suggestion would be to make the bottom part of the applicator easier to grip during insertion. Otherwise, it’s pretty much perfect!

Multi-Use Product!
I know this is listed as a menstrual cup product but it helps me so much with my Nuvaring! I have a high tilted cervix so manual insertion can be pretty uncomfortable. This made the process less than a minute and super easy. I love that it doubles as a carry case too!

Great idea, bad execution
These work, but are kind of a pain to use. I was struggling with proper disk placement because I have short fingers and a bad wrist. The applicator doesn't slide smoothly when you press the plunger bit in. I think the plunger really should be like half a millimeter smaller for it to slide in better cause I feel like I'm fighting to press the plunger down even if it's lubricated inside and out. Additionally I wish the end where you hold it had a larger lip or wings to hold onto, because of how hard it is to slide the plunger you lose grip of the applicator easily. Also, tmi because of how hard it is to slide I pinched my labia and it took like 3 minutes to pull the plunger bit out and separate the 2 pieces. That was really unpleasant. I really think all these issues could be fixed by revising the design just a little bit, make the plunger a little bit thinner and add larger wings to allow for a better grip.

Small Tool, Big Relief
I didn’t realize how much I needed the Pixie disc applicator until I tried it. Menstrual discs can be a little tricky at first, but this applicator makes the whole process way less stressful. It’s simple to use, feels comfortable, and honestly just takes the awkwardness out of figuring out the right angle. Plus, it’s small enough to toss in my bag without thinking twice. The best part is the peace of mind — I don’t have to second-guess if I put the disc in correctly, which makes my day so much easier. It’s one of those little tools that ends up making a big difference

Too Many Flaws
I was really excited to try this product. The idea that I didn’t have to get as handsy with myself every twelve hours was nice. Sadly, I found the Pixie Disc Applicator unusable. I noticed two major and two minor flaws. Major flaw one: there was no grip!! There was an itty bitty nub around the base but it wasn’t even enough to use my nails to grip it. In the future I would like to see a flared bottom, similar to a syringe for my fingers to really grip. I mean, that body is going to get slick with fluids and when I attempted to insert with lubricant, it was even worse. Major flaw two: the plunger didn’t slide in. It got stuck and I had to use a lot of pressure to push the disc through. Lubricant did not help this. Originally I tried the product before my cycle to get a feel for it outside of the war zone and thought maybe once it was slick with fluid it would really glide. Tried it again durning my cycle with no luck. I even tried lubing the inside, but no shabang. With it being so finicky, it took a long time to actually push the disc out, and I only successfully pushed it out once. Waaay quicker to just use my fingers. Minor flaw one: the body of the applicator was too short. When I had it fully inserted, only the base of the applicator was outside my body. If there had been a good grip, it would have been an even smaller issue, but I would prefer it was a bit longer for ease. Also, it wasn’t long enough for the large disc. The disc had to poke a good bit out of the top of the applicator to get the plunger in, not really an issue, but something to note regardless. Minor flaw two: there is a tiny lip on the inside of the applicator that makes the initial push more difficult, specifically with the larger discs where you can’t push it past the lip before inserting. It appears the lip is to keep the plunger from falling out…? But with the tight fit it’s no necessary and I can’t think of any other reason for it to be there. I should note that I only tried the applicator with the medium and large discs as I don’t have a small. Now there were a couples of pros, such as I liked that there was a case to put the applicator in to keep it clean, the body was very smooth and comfortable to insert, and it was nice that you only needed to wash it with warm soapy water to disinfect. The only real perk though, was when I did finally manage to get the disc out, I was able to push it into place with the top of the applicator no problem. I only managed that once in the three or four times I attempted to use it. Unfortunately, at this time, I do not think it is worth the purchase. But I do have high hopes for the future of the product! The idea is lovely and the ease would be delightful.

Game changer for first time disc users
I am glad Pixie decided to make an applicator because as a first time disc user, I was having a lot of trouble getting the hang of insertion without it. It does require a bit of force to push the disc into place, especially the bigger one but I find it much much easier than doing that hands only. And it seems this is the only brand that thought of that so definitely a game changer! I was about to insert it and it was perfectly positioned on the first try.

Great for getting the placement right
I'd tried the disc for a couple of days before getting this. The first time I put it in it was fine, second time it leaked, and then I was just paranoid when using it that it wasn't in right. It felt like it could very easily slip out of place, hence the leak. I ordered this thinking it would just make it easier to put in, but the first time I used it was an "Oooooh!" moment. I hadn't been shoving it far enough back. When I put it in with the applicator it was very obviously secure. It is like putting in a large tampon. It feels a bit weird when it pops out so far back, but it's easier than pushing it in manually. I've seen other reviews saying it is difficult to push, but I've used the large and medium pixie discs in it and both were slightly stiff at first, but slid along fine once they started moving. I think now knowing where it should be I could potentially do it myself, but I actually prefer using the applicator. Seeing as the disc only needs changing twice a day it's not like I need to carry it around, but it's pretty compact so I could if I wanted. Definitely recommend for new disc users!

C'est un coup de main à prendre
Malgré le mode d'emploi, ce n'est pas du tout aisé de positionner correctement la coupe. Le plastique étant lisse, il est glissant et ce n'est pas facile de pousser la cup.
