Buy W. W. Norton & Company The Road to Freedom: Economics and the Good Society by Stiglitz, Joseph E online on desertcart.ae at best prices. ✓ Fast and free shipping ✓ free returns ✓ cash on delivery available on eligible purchase. Review: Joseph Stiglitz stands out from the ruck of economists insofar as he is prepared to call out private rent seeking as contributing to the growing inequality that we allow to accompany material progress. Is this really freedom? Stiglitz's view of private property doesn't align at all with those owners of real estate who consider they have no ongoing contribution to make for their holdings. "The Road to Freedom" is a necessary read if we want to escape from the prisoner's dilemma "in which people would be better off if they could only cooperate". Maybe economic rent, instead of taxing our earnings and purchases, is "The Road to Freedom"? Review: Tolles Buch von einem Top Ökonomen mit einfachen Erklärungen für Jedermann. Man muss wissen, dass er eher US amerikanischen Demokraten nahesteht aber auch viele vernünftige Republikaner werden seine Thesen teilen.

I am on the older side and have been a professor most of my life, not in political science, but have read fairly widely in the area. I very much appreciated this book. I learned lots from it. AND I do agree with the author on what's needed to give capitalism a social conscience.
