The original remote that came with my Apple TV is very high quality but is too small for my big hands, is very slippery, and has the mic button on the side which I was constantly hitting. This remote solves all those issues. It is slightly wider, about 25% longer, twice as thick, and the back is textured plastic. It functions just like the original remote. Pairing it was simple; insert batteries, pressed a couple of buttons and the Apple TV prompted me to move the remote close to the Apple TV. Moved it to within a couple inches and the pairing completed automatically. It seamlessly duplicates all the button functions of the original remote and the buttons light up when touched. I am very happy with this remote and highly recommend it.

Immediately connected, works better than original because it doesn't have the track pad but all the functionality. Easier to use for our kids.

This exact same thing happened to me. Sending it back for another. Will give it one more try, I did like how it worked while it worked. LOL "Bought this as a replacement remote for an Apple TV. Worked for a bit, then sat unused until the batteries died. After putting in fresh batteries it would no longer pair, and the backlight became inconsistent. Sometimes picking it up turned the light on, sometimes not. Holding buttons would cause flickering. That ended up being the real issue, because the remote never stayed powered long enough to complete Bluetooth pairing. I reset the Apple TV, cleared pairings, retried multiple times at close range. Nothing. The problem was clearly the remote hardware, not configuration. A remote that cannot maintain stable power cannot pair, and this one could not. Returned as defective. If the backlight is not perfectly consistent, pairing will fail. This unit was unreliable and unusable."

I set up the all-in-one Apple TV replacement, remote, in less than 10 minutes. I'm a tech guy, but I run into lots of problems with tech stuff before. I did have to reference the manual but maybe for five seconds. It said push one button when you're near the Apple TV box. I pushed one button any button and it worked! I can safely say it works better than the original remote.FF and rewind are simple now. Voice commands work too! 😊✅

My original Apple TV remote broke and I didn't want to pay Apple the $60 they ask for theirs so I bought a cheap remote on Amazon, and it sucked. Then I found this one. A little more money than I wanted to pay for this type of thing... but still half the price of the Apple one. I was skeptical it would work with Siri on my Apple TV 4K, but it works perfectly. The only thing I miss about the original is the touch pad that let me "swipe" through the video so I can quickly get to a section of the video I am watching. I didn't realize how much I used that feature. With this remote, you just have to do it the old fashioned way by pressing and holding the fast forward button, or if you know where you're trying to go, you can tell Siri to go to that place in time. One UPGRADE I wasn't expecting was the light up buttons. A huge upgrade in my opinion! When you touch the remote the buttons light up. I love that. Overall, I recommend this remote if you're looking to replace the Apple one and save some money.

I have been searching for a better remote for the 3rd generation Apple TV 4K. This one fits the bill. The particular function that had been annoying on the original Apple TV remote is the finicky “D pad” — my wife and I always found the discrete rewinding or fast forwarding has been difficult due to the Apple TV remote design. We are happy to report that this “One for All” remote fixes this issue. It’s been pretty bulletproof— setup was easy and it maintains a consistent connection via Bluetooth (line of sight not needed).
