Updated regularly, Americaโs baby bible answers all your questions. How can I get my baby to tell night from day? Is my breastfed baby getting enough to eat? When should I start solids? And what should I start with? When will my baby sleep through the night? Will my colicky baby ever stop crying? What are the best toys for my baby? Is it okay to let my baby play with my smartphone? Should I buy organic for my baby? With nearly 12 million copies in print, What to Expect: The First Year is the worldโs best-selling, best-loved guide to the instructions that babies donโt come with, but should. Keeping the trademark month-by-month format that allows parents to take the potentially overwhelming first year one step at a time, First Year is easy to read, fast to flip through and packed with practical tips, realistic advice, and relatable, accessible information. Including: Baby care fundamentals like crib and sleep safety, feeding, vitamin supplements; support for breastfeeding (getting started and keeping it going). Hot-button topics and trends are tackled: attachment parenting, sleep training, early potty learning (elimination communication), baby-led weaning, and green parenting (from cloth diapers to non-toxic furniture). There are tips on preparing homemade baby food, the latest recommendations on starting solids, research on the impact of screen time (TVs, tablets, apps, computers)โand so much more. Review: A must have for new parents - This book helped me a lot. It is written really wel because it gives u advice per month. Which i found really helpful. Not to much information at once. But u get all that can happen with ur baby per month. Review: An Essential Guide for New Parents - I had read "What to Expect the First Year" and I must say that it is an exceptional resource for new parents. As a first-time parent myself, I was overwhelmed with the myriad of questions and concerns that came with the arrival of my little one. This book has been an invaluable companion throughout the first year of my child's life, and I cannot recommend it highly enough. First and foremost, the book is incredibly comprehensive. It covers every topic imaginable, from newborn care and feeding to sleep schedules, developmental milestones, and even dealing with common health issues. The authors leave no stone unturned, providing detailed and practical advice on virtually every aspect of baby care. No matter what challenges I encountered, I found relevant and reliable information within its pages.

lots of great information
Much of this was a great refresher from nursing school. Some of this went into slightly more detail. I really appreciate the authors capability of maintaining a neutral standpoint and reminding moms of what feelings may come, why they are normal, and how to handle those feelings.

What to Expect book series
Bought What To Expect and First Year for my daughter who reads these religiously. I donโt remember the correct answers to all her questions and appreciate the reference these books provide. I recommend these to anyone with a newborn.

Dissapointing book
Very "uncomfortable" book to read, the writing format is very messy with multiple columns on the same page and different headlines, you don't even know what to read. Very US specific in writing, many topics but no depth in either of them. I would also say a bit judgemental at times, for example talking about baby's development and comparing them to "normal" babies - what are "normal" babies? Very strange style of writting.
