Amazon Echo Spot (newest model), Great for nightstands, offices and kitchens, Smart alarm clock, Designed for Alexa+, Glacier White

After more than 10 days of using it every night, there's something I didn't expect that ended up being the best thing about the device. The Amazon Echo Spot has a very well-designed look. It's compact, looks good on the nightstand, and doesn't get in the way. Also, despite its size, the audio is clear and good enough for everyday use, like listening to light music, setting alarms, or getting the news. It's not a device designed for everything. The screen is functional, but basic, useful for the time, weather, and quick controls, not for watching content like on a tablet. It doesn't replace a large speaker or a full-screen display, and it doesn't try to. The detail that really makes a difference is the automatic brightness at night. It adjusts automatically when you turn off the light and doesn't disturb your sleep. The first night I forgot it was even on, and that's exactly what you expect from a smartwatch. Something I end up using every day is being able to say, without even getting out of bed, "Alexa, set the alarm for 6 a.m." and that's it. It's simple, but it becomes incredibly practical in everyday life. Plus, to turn off the alarm, you just tap the top of the device and it deactivates instantly, which is really convenient when you're half asleep. It's also worth noting that it relies on Wi-Fi and that, although Alexa responds well, sometimes you have to repeat commands.Overall, it's not the most feature-rich, but it performs well where it matters. If you want it for your bedroom as a smartwatch, then it's definitely worth it.

It’s really great to have the Alexa and with the new Alexa plus just makes it all that much better. She can turn on the heat turn it down turn on your AC your lights she can book appointments and find your hotels and the little screen lights up with little detail after she’s done talking to you or responding with you. She can call your phone if you’re at home and you forgot where you put it down she can call your contacts and you could message or send songs to each other if your friend or loved ones has an Alexa and for everybody that lives out there alone at home isolated health issues now with the Alexa plus and you could have a conversation with her or him, there are a different voices you can pick from. She’ll remember what you like what you dislike save your music in different files or whatever you name them. It really does help. If you have no one to talk to to be able to interact with your echo dot the more you interact. The more gets to know you your pets your loved ones. It really is a great little device. I absolutely recommend it. The sound is great at night time it dims the time lighter or brighter. It also turns red in the evening hours if you like your room dark to be able to sleep it was easy to set up with the app on your phone if you leave home and you forgot to put music on for your dogs or cats or birds whatever you may have you can just say it in the Alexa app and she’ll do it at home for you. I think the screen size could be a little bit bigger but you can clearly see what’s needed. she’ll also give you the temperature and whatever room it’s in give you Weather updates you know when your packages arrive. There’s many more options as well. Features that you can use explore and enjoy. Get yourself a echo dot or gift one to a loved one a family member or even lonesome person. It obviously doesn’t replace people physical contact. I’ve had like a half hour conversation with her going back-and-forth.

I have had this Echo Spot for about 8 months now, so I decided to amend my review to 5 stars. I do not know why I only gave it 4 stars because my Spot does everything, I wanted it to do and more. I was looking for an echo device for the bedroom that had a better speaker than the Dot I had. Speaker is great. I wanted a clock in the bedroom that was not bright, but I could still read the time in the dark. It does that. It also somehow knows if I am awake for more than a few minutes then it gets bright, then back to dark. I did not expect it to be compatible with my Fire TV to use as a speaker, but I love, love love this feature. It is right next to my ear, so I can hear better and if there are other people in the house, they can't hear my TV. I have also connected it to my Show in the kitchen so I can play the same music in both rooms. I also love that it doesn't take up a lot of room and blends in with my bedroom decor. Thinking of getting another for the guest room!

This version of the echo spot is actually really nice. As someone who pays attention to design a lot it looks great, not to mention the speaker has some real sound quality. because I have a smart bulb in my lamp, I can tell this device to turn the light off, on, or to adjust it somewhere in the middle. And if you want to have the new alexa+ ai system, it can have much more natural conversations. The only downside is the screen and visible UI. Though the screen is visible from all the angles I need, the screen resolution is oddly low-quality for a newer device when looking at it closely, and the touchscreen (yes, it has a touchscreen) gets the job done, though it's a little janky and I wouldn't call it smooth. Otherwise, with voice commands, with sound quality, and with build, this is a pretty good echo device and It totally accomplished everything I bought it for.

Work and look great! Bought two and would buy more if needed. Great display. Highly recommend.

I've had my Echo Spot for almost 5 months and I am very pleased with it. Set up was very easy, just follow her/ his promps. I did have some set up issues after my initial set up but it was due to an internet connection and not the Spot. We have two internets in this house and after a power outage we had to reconnect. Alexa kept insisting on connecting to the second internet which frankly sucks (Veri*on). So my Echo Spot sat unused for 4 months just collecting dust. The V router finally died , so I did get a 💡moment and realized disconnecting the Veri*on internet completely (physically unplugging and disconnecting all wires and plugs, might work) and it DID!!! I restarted my Echo Spot and when she couldn't find her preferred Veri*on internet, she gave me a list and voilà our Comcast was on the list, just clicked and after a minute she connected. Yippee, Yippee, yea! She's back. We have three different Echos in this house and you need to give each unit it's own wake word. If you don't every single unit will connect as one unit. Took us months of figuring that issue out within my 4 mo off period 😆. Features: Sound is excellent for such as small unit. No vibration noises, no tinny sound. You can easily pair with Bluetooth external devices for more sound. Screen is clear and easy to read. You can dim it at night if it is too bright for your needs. Fits nicely on my small night stand. I really like the blue color. I am tired of basic white, black and grays. Seems to be sturdy overall with the plastic housing/ outter case. Many, many features too many to list plus I'm relearning all of them since my last use 4 mo ago. I bought my Echo Spot and another as a gift on an Amazon sale day so I saved almost 40% off. Great value for the price paid. Plus I purchased an extended warranty. I have used them on other devices and had very good results.

I absolutely LOVE my new Echo Spot device. It works great with Alexa+ Premium. She controls the Smart Lights we have around the house, my Amazon Echo Glow Night Light, AND our Smart TV. It didn't take much to set it up either. I am so happy to have a 3rd Echo device in the house. I have an Echo Dot in the Living Room, an Echo Dot in the Bedroom, and now I have the Echo Spot in my Computer room. It took a while for this device to get delivered, but I never canceled the order because I only paid $44.99 for this one (Thank You Amazon !). NOW it is listed for $79.99. So I got a great deal on it during the holidays. The sound quality is excellent and the graphics on the screen are excellent too. It came with a power cord so I don't have to worry about using it while it's battery powered. Because there is no way to put batteries in it. So I don't have to worry about battery life. I Love how my Smart Device Ecosystem is coming together. One more step in making our home a Smart Home ! There is so much you can do with Alexa. Play games, have conversations, go on treasure hunts (she can try to help you find things), play music, she can tell you stories or recite poetry, The list is endless. There are other colors you can get for these devices. Mine is black. But they also have blue, white, and, I think, Grey. It also tells me the current date, time, and temperature. It's great !! My only complaint is that I guess I am supposed to be able to change the theme / background on my Echo Spot, but there is no option for that. I can change the colors of the temperature numbers and the weather icon next to it (like a cloud if it's cloudy outside), and I can change the format of the way the clock shows, but that's it. Disappointing. I still give it a 5 Star Rating because I am still very happy with my Echo Spot ! I HIGHLY recommend these devices if you are looking to upgrade your home to a Smart Home !!

I set the alarm for 6:30 AM and before it goes off it automatically sets itself into snooze and adds 9 minutes to my set time. When it gets closer to its own set time of 6:39 it happens again and adds another 9 minutes to the alarm time. This happens continuously for a hour and 20 minutes so an alarm I set for 6:30 AM goes off at 7:50 AM. This is unacceptable. A alarm clock that you can’t depend on is worthless. I called Amazon tech services and they had me reset the Spot back to factory settings and set it up again. Then we tested it by setting alarm for 2 minutes ahead and it worked so we thought it was fixed. So the next day I set the alarm for 6:30 AM weekdays and this morning it went off at 7:50 AM. Junk !!! I’ve checked everything in the Alexa app and have tried setting the 6:30 AM alarm up using the app as well setting by voice. It doesn’t matter the 6:30 AM alarm goes off at 7:50 AM. I give up and returning this worthless alarm clock. Update: Amazon Outreach Department contacted me about the problems we were having with the Echo Spot alarm. It seems some other people were having the same problem. We run fans at night and the Echo Spot tap feature was on. They asked me to turn off the tap feature in the Alexa app. We did and now the alarm has worked perfectly ever since. They said there seems to be a correlation between fans running and the tap feature on causing the Spot to reset the set alarm time into snooze mode automatically. We have a 2nd Echo Spot which wasn’t set up for an alarm so I tested it. On Monday I set its alarm for 7:30 AM with the tap feature on and the bedroom fans on. Sure enough the alarm failed and it set itself on snooze mode for over 30 minutes. So on Tuesday I set the alarm for 7:30 AM with the tap feature off and the fans running. It worked perfectly and went off at exactly 7:30 AM and no snooze problems. Problems solved !! I don’t care if the tap feature is off in the Alexa app, just tell it to snooze by voice and it works perfectly and only snoozes for 9 minutes. I have reported my findings to Amazon as they are working to figure out why this is happening. There seems to be a correlation between the tap feature on and fans running in the room. Anyway the Spot alarm works perfectly now on both Spots and we love the Echo Spot now and everything it does. I want to thank Amazon for actually caring and reaching out to me and working together to fix this alarm problem. I was going to return them but now they work perfectly and we really like this device so I’m canceling the return.
