Brother Printer MFC7240 Monochrome Printer with Scanner, Copier and Fax,Grey, 12.2" x 14.7" x 14.6"

Awesome printer. I bought it because I wanted something durable and simple. It prints well and gets the job done quickly. Only downside is that the other functions are difficult to use, but hey, it's easy to print with and that's the main reason why I bought it. I LOVE how simple this machine is. I was so tired of printers that had to run "updates" and "reconfigure themselves" every time I used them. This one prints when I tell it to print - let's be real, that's the main thing we all want in a printer. You'll need to leave a little extra space around it to accommodate the vent, but the size is pretty compact given that it's also a fax machine.

It does what it's supposed to do so if you only need black printing this is a great little workhorse. Also if you're inclined to refill your own toner drum as I am, this one is easy to do and so much cheaper than buying a new toner.... like ten bucks vs. maybe $50 or so, not sure of price of new drum. Instructions and parts available online and easy.

It's a good machine. It works and prints great. The materials are a bit on the cheap sign, but not enough to be a negative. Good: The install was easy for me, but not for someone older.. The manual is substantial and does help. Bad: -Copier sucks if you need to feed the original through the scanner (it's the kind that needs to run the paper through, not the flatbed). It almost never works as necessary and often feeds the paper sideways. - Paper Jams were common before I really figured out how to do it. If you do frequent scanning, you really shouldn't get this machine. Only someone who needs the fax needs to get this machine. Otherwise, get a combo with the flatbed scanner.

Did some research prior to purchasing and found Amazon had the best price. My original order was defective and I had to request a return. Amazon had a new printer to me within 5 days and the return of the defective printer was painless. This printer is an upgrade to a previous Brother MFC and so far it has run flawless and all the functions work well. I would recommend this printer to anyone looking for an all in one printer with a reliable reputation and quality functions.

This fax is worth it's weight in gold. Fast, great printing, many features. A bargain.

The phone line connector on this model is loose, and the slightest tug on the phone wire causes the line to disconnect from the fax machine. I returned the first machine and got a new one, and it has the same problem. Obviously, a manufacturing defect. It is too annoying to re-box and return the second machine, so I used tape to hold the phone wire to the back of the fax machine.

I bought the 7240 printer cuz I’m still using my 08 iMac with snow leopard. My brother 7420 would not print anymore. Everything is working as it should. So I gave it a 4 out of 5

Trying to close out an office and our Brother finally broke (after years). We needed a printer to print a ton of paper everyday. We bought a cannon and regretted it straight away. Paper fetched up. Couldn’t seem to print form the computer without 5-6 hit print 😐 Was terrible. Could not find a brother anywhere so ordered this online. Absolutely NO regrets !!! It’s getting through what a small machine should not be capable of. Awesome product !!

This printer is dependable and makes a nice print. I use it for invoices, for Word documents and spreadsheets. Also for scanning documents into the computer. The document feeder is excellent for faxing or copying numerous pages.

I had a Brother MFC990CW that finally packed it in after 15 years of hard use. I was very happy with that machine. The new MFC7240 is similar to my old Brother BUT doesn't perform like a printer should. For example, the 7240 prints with a border of approximately 5 mm so anything on the outside of the page doesn't get printed. To me that is hard to believe that a printer would do that.Secondly, this printer is LOUD. I was amazed how loud it is. The phone has a cord where my old 990CW was cordless. The viewing window is tiny and the keypad is hard to read. The scanner was good. I didn't try the fax. I only printed about 20 pages before I realized I had to return it for a printer that prints the whole page. I wouldn't recommend the MFC7240.

It was a very good product, arrived nicely packed but I have to return it because It was unable to print with Wi Fi, other than that this a great value for it's price . Can not say more because I did not use it and returned as soon as I found out the issue of wireless incapability.
