Buy Pops: Fatherhood in Pieces 1 by Chabon, Michael (ISBN: 9780008286293) from desertcart's Book Store. Everyday low prices and free delivery on eligible orders. Review: Top of the Pops. - A slender book of essays on fatherhood by my favourite author. I only wish this had been longer. Warm, witty and wise, each piece has something recognisable to say about parenthood and says it in such a way that will bring a smile to the face or a tear to the eye. Ah, Michael Chabon, how wonderfully you write… Review: A delicious series of essays on fatherhood, small book, quick read. But the writing it all Chabon: complex, sensitive, and composed with the care of a sonata. I love this man. The essays are touching and witty and embroider the heart of the intimate permutations of fatherhood and son-hood.

What a fantastic read! Michael Chabon's sublime skill with written language comes through again. Being a father in a similar demographic with the author probably didn't hurt, but it was all good stuff. Highly recommended!!

Great Book. Bought for my husband for Father’s Day.

My son Steve recommended I read some of Michael Chabon's writings. They were students together at UC Irvine and both live in Berkeley. They've never met but Steve knew I'd love his work. "Pops" is the first book I've read by Chabon. It is outstanding and, being a writer myself, I'm inspired by his writing and plan to read more. My own son was right. I especially liked ,Chabon's final essay, "Pops."

I admire Michael Chabon’s writing and enjoyed the reflections on fatherhood—the writer’s own fatherhood as well as his relationship to his own father (would that be a reflection on sonhood?). I gave this essay collection as a Father’s Day gift to my brother, who is father to three sons. I was delighted when he told me how much he enjoyed this book, so much so that he’s looking for other books by Chsbon to read. (I recommended The Yiddish Policeman’s Union and The Amazing Adventures of Kavalier and Clay.)
