Broadfix Shim Flat Plastic 60PK

I was looking for shims to place under my dresser in the master bedroom because the drawers kept sliding open. Everything I found was angled or sloped, which didn’t work—until I came across these. I love that they’re flat, crisscrossed, and come in a variety of sizes. You can even stack them to adjust the height. These will definitely come in handy for all sorts of projects!

I bought these for a jig. Stacked and aligned the grooves mesh and the thicknesses is perhaps 5% less than nominal, i.e., 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 and 6 mm thickness. Stacked crosswise, they are about 5% thicker than nominal. They are bowed less than 0.5 mm over their length as depicted in the first image. I think they are good value, durable, and with many uses.

All sizes included are very close to their stated nominal thickness. I checked several of each. And, they are a dense type of plastic those doesn't easily compress. At least I couldn't get any to easily in a vise. They are a well made product. I also like how many you get. Not a stupid small amount like with some.

These are handy to have and work as well as I expected them to, but there's one annoyance. They're packaged in the flimsiest plastic so when you're taking them out and putting them back in the box it flexes all over the place. But since it's a relatively cheap product I can look past that. I do like these much more than my previous method of using playing cards as shims.

I just use these the other day to shim a frameless shower glass door to adjust the hinges, and it worked really nicely, plenty of options to make just the right height

I bought these shims/spacers so that I could shim the floating shelf in our shower so that it was more sturdy. They worked perfectly for that. When I remodeled the shower, I had to do a lot of work to the studs to get them plumb, level, and square so that the backer board and shower panels would be straight and level. I used cardboard drywall shims for that, but I wish I had had these on hand at the time. I could have used the various thicknesses to get different areas of the studs in the ballpark, and then just stacked the cardboard shims to match these spacers. I will for sure use them when we remodel the rest of the bathroom, since we will be replacing our wood-panel walls with sheetrock. I will use these for sure.

I love these. I use them all the time when adjusting cabinet doors and drawer fronts to make sure everything is level and that gaps are the width I want.
