Good product
Great quality and very easy to use. It helps relieve muscle pain and tension effectively, and the rechargeable battery lasts a long time. The multiple settings are a nice bonus. I'm very happy with this purchase and would definitely recommend it.

Very well built, works as advertised but learning curve involved
Arrives in a very nice Apple-like white box. Very well packaged and presents as a high quality product. Instructions and such are quite a read. This thing is fairly complicated in operation with bunch of different settings. There's a learning curve here to be sure. Did best I could to understand how it worked. So got two of the skin pads out, hooked up to Channel 1, placed them on my lower thigh and upper thigh. Program 20, level 40 intensity. It definitely puts out some electrical stimulation. Over the next week or so, I'll figure out more about fine tuning pad placement and such. Overall, the unit is very high quality construction, is very solid. I'm using this more for rehabbing my leg muscles due to neuropathy and we'll see if it can help.

Good product after a few minor adjustments.
Back on 2024.03.29 I purchased the iSTIM EV-805 TENS EMS unit as a logical upgrade to the TENS-7000 unit that I have had and used for years. As such, it is a useful unit having two additional output channels, a 2000mA/h rechargeable prismatic Li-Ion cell, EMS functions in addition to the usual TENS functions, and discrete step push button controls have replaced the old potentiometer controls of the earlier iteration of the device. A few friends have had their own units with them when visiting, and their reaction to comparing theirs against what I ended up using has always been favorable. I figure that people should use what they like and be happy with what they have, but several visitors have gone home and purchased this unit to replace their own shock boxes that look like iPods. Controls are intuitive and the display has enough contrast for my eyes. Normally, I prefer the newer black background, reflective characters LCD panels, because they are easier on my eyes, but have not had any problem reading the panel output during setting and use. Those two additional channels certainly speed things along, as opposed to shifting two channels from side to side. It is a keeper....after a couple of minor modifications: Firstly, anything that comes with an internal Li-Ion cell, comes with a cell capacity which is just enough to make the device functional for a token period of time. Nearly every manufacturer chintzes on internal power sources, and this device is no exception. Fortunately, there is more than enough internal space within the case to remove the 2000mA/h afterthought of a Li-Ion cell, and replace that with a 7200mA/h solution which yields acceptable use times, for around $4.90, and about 125 minutes of time spent massaging the case to fit the new power cells. Secondly, in today's retail market, I have trouble understanding why so many device manufacturers are still clinging to using legacy USB-Micro B connectors for charging purposes. Switching this device over to a USB-Type C connector for charging is a $1.25 line item ( in the retail market), carrying less than 10 minutes to make the switch, if you do it at the same time you switch out the power cell. Interestingly enough, the case does not need to be modified to accommodate the change in connector profile. The price difference between USB-Micro B and USB-Type C connectors being literally pennies on the manufacturing side makes the choice of USB-Micro B over USB-Type C for contemporary products ridiculous in the extreme. Lastly, I noticed that several customers mentioned missing character segments in the display of this particular model. While I had the device op[ened up, making minor adjustments, I happened to notice a significant number of screws missing. Since the missing screws were intended to hold the printed circuit board in close contact with the inside surface of the forward case half, it is likely that this could be the root cause of these display abnormalities. Having plenty of screws of the type that are necessary, I added them to the unit that I had on my desk. Upon completion of my fiddling around with the innards of the device, I powered it on, and noted that the display contrast was far better than it had been when I initially powered it on, so this tends to bolster my impression that this device, while good in intent, does suffer from unnecessary cost-cutting strategies implemented during manufacture. Hiring a competent and savvy plant rep would be a strategic move if market presence over time is desired on the part of those contracting for the production of these units. Despite tyhese minor foibles, the product is worth owning, and serves the intended purpose well.

This is a TENS and EMS unit. It helps significantly with muscle pain a rehab of muscles.
I bought this to help with low back pain and to rehabilitate some shoulder muscles after surgery. With this unit, you can run 4 channels at once on the same program at varying intensities. It works well and can do several sessions without recharging.

I love this! It works so well I got one for my mom, too!!
GET THIS!!! I've used tens machines before but this is the best one ever. I got this after spinal fusion surgery, to replace my old one that broke. It's perfect! I have no cons, only pros. IT IS VERY EASY TO USE! Just put the pads on according to the included chart, plug the cord in, and turn it on. Check with your Dr to make sure the settings you use are ok. I use it for pain relief and to help stop muscle spasms. I keep it on tens mode, program 1 all day. It really helps to reduce spasms frequency and intensity. My mom and I both have muscular dystrophy and injuries to our backs from car accidents. I just had surgery to fuse my lumbar spine. She can't do surgery due to other health issues, so I let her use this a few hours and she felt MUCH better. This comes with a bunch of pads, but you can use them over& over so these will last a really long time. The battery lasts forever. I use it a few hours daily, and it still keeps going for a good 2 weeks. When you do need a recharge, it goes fast. The case it comes with is ready to toss in my work bag. Cables are long, and is you do want something different they are easy to get at medical supply places or online. TIPS: Make sure you have no creams or lotions on the pads or skin placement site. Keep at least 1 inch between pads. DO NOT LET THEM TOUCH! That hurts, and it can short out the machine. When you remove the pads, don't just pull the cable. Hold the pad and the cable firmly and peel it off. The adhesive is strong so it can be tough if you don't have enough hand strength to cut a steak. Don't let the sticky pads touch each other. Follow the pad chart... You have to put the red and black parts in the right spots, not too close & not to far apart. Put the pads on, and THEN plug them in& turn on the machine. It hurts like hell to try to move them with the machine on. During use make sure the whole pad lies flat on your skin. When they lift part way they sting pretty bad. Most important of all, start out slowly and show it to your Dr and/or physical therapist. Both can show you how to set this up safely. The EMS part works differently, and you can actually pull a muscle if you do it for too strong or for longer than it tells you to. So be careful. You won't get all 'bulked and buff' by using it lying on the sofa all day. But it will strengthen you enough so doing walking or PT exercises don't hurt like crazy. You have to get up and move to get better. Good luck and if you get this I'm sure you'll be very happy!

Great for travel and portability
Right when you handle this unit from the start you can tell it is good quality. The portability and size are helpful especially since I was able to use it recently when traveling. My son is a football player and had a hamstring injury. This was a great way to continue his PT while traveling this summer and not skip a beat.

Pleasantly surprised! Helped with atrophy
I bought this for the EMS function. I've been dealing with a chronic illness for the last few years, and unfortunately it led to muscle atrophy in my legs because there was no way for me to be active. On top of that, one of the medications I tried for the chronic illness caused joint degeneration on my knees, so my ability to walk has been greatly decreased. My doctor recommended physical therapy, which I totally agree with but can't afford right now, so I bought this to help get some strength back in my leg muscles. I honestly didn't think it was going to do much, if anything, but if it didn't I'd at least still be able to use it as a TENS for pain. I've been using it daily for about a week on my quads, starting with my right leg because it's weaker than my left, and after a few days I actually noticed a difference! Son of a biscuit! It's so much easier for me to get up from a seated position, and I can actually manage going up and down stairs leading with my right leg now! I literally cried. I haven't been able to go up and down stairs like normal for about 2 years, and I was able to just the other day (still slow, but not one stair at a time like I had been doing). For reference, I'm in my mid 30s. That being said, the device itself is a bit more complicated than ideal. I haven't played with dialing in settings myself; I've been using the programs it has for EMS. Comes with a couple very handy diagram sheets with what program numbers should be used on what areas (one sheet for TENS and one for EMS), and each one runs for 30 minutes. So I hook up my right quad, and rotate through EMS programs for a total of about 2 hours a day. Much more than that and I need a day off because my leg ends up sore. After the initial charge, the battery has lasted a whole week of daily use (minus one rest day) and hasn't given me a low battery alert yet. I saw some other reviews saying they need to put the strength up to 8 or 9 and was worried that this device wouldn't be strong enough, but I had to start out at 3, lol. I'm at a 5 or 6 now, depending on the program. The adhesive pads are alright. I've had two other TENS devices with different types of pads; these are about average. The fabric is soft enough that it can contour to different areas without peeling itself off. The adhesive itself isn't anything to write home about; in one week, using one pair of electrodes at a time, I've about finished my second set of pads. I've been keeping the pads on the plastic sheet they come on and in a Ziploc bag between uses. I have *not* been wiping down my skin with an alcohol pad before use, so your mileage may vary should you choose to do that. This device is enough that if doing physical therapy seems impossible (physically or financially), this may give you the boost you need. It's also really easy to put on and forget about while it runs, so it won't interrupt other activities; the EMS programs don't cause my muscles to jerk like a TENS usually does. Overall, if you're dealing with muscle atrophy after illness, I'd say this is worth it. At the price of about 3 physical therapy copays it's not cheap, but it's enough to help me get to where I can do exercises at home and build myself back up.

Working great after 8 years. 4 channels for 4 sets of electrodes, rechargeable, lots of power.
I bought this in 2018 and I'm using it right now. I get a full week of use out of a single charge. In fact, I've never run the battery dead completely. I chose this model because it has 4 different channels, they are individually programmable, and I can change the frequency of the impulses and the width (meaning depth) of the penetration. The max timer is 60 minutes, or it can be set to continuous. I saw one review complaining that they "felt nothing at level 4," but this unit goes from zero all the way to 100. I bought it for pain relief. If the electrodes are brand-new, I definitely would not need to go over 20. I have never used power level 50, because that would be downright painful. I can't even imagine maxing it out to 100. I have no doubt 100, with an EMS setting, will contract the largest muscles. Yes, it is a bit more expensive, but I only want to buy one thing one time and I don't want to buy a lower-priced unit, then find out it's lower-priced for a reason. One fixed "pain relief mode" does not feel the same to everyone. You WILL have to read the manual, though, if you want to get the most out of it.

iSTIM EV-805: Simple, Strong, Effective
The iSTIM EV-805 machine features four channels, allowing the simultaneous use of eight electrode pads. At first glance, the numerous buttons and wires might seem daunting, but in reality, it's quite user-friendly. My suggestion is to start by using 1-2 channels. Once you become more comfortable, you can utilize all four channels at once. This capability to relieve and train multiple muscle areas simultaneously is incredibly convenient. After workouts, I often experience soreness in multiple areas, and with this device, I can apply pads to both my knees and shoulders. The wire length is sufficient to place them anywhere on the body, as long as it's not prohibited. Remember not to place pads on the face or head. For beginners, I recommend turning on the device and pressing the MODE button until you see the "P" indicator. You can then choose from the preset programs P1 to P24, adjusting only the intensity. If you're already familiar with using such devices, the impressive aspect of this machine is that the pulse rate and width are adjustable, allowing for various modes and tests. I highly recommend purchasing this machine due to its powerful and convenient features. However, a drawback is that it is not rechargeable and requires four AA batteries. Fortunately, these batteries are included in the package, so there's no need to purchase them separately initially.
