The Humans : Haig, Matt: desertcart.in: Books Review: A must read for humans - This book made me laugh, cry, discover new music, reaffirmed my belief that animals are the best and made me go, "huh?! I never realized that". Matt Haig has a clever way of sneaking in the ugly truths about human in the most disarming way. The story made me believe that maybe all hope is not lost for humans by showing exactly what is wrong with us humans. You learn how to be a human all over again, what we are in true sense. 100% recommended. This book is one of the reasons why I will have a library and pass on my collection to my children. Here's to hoping to meet Matt one day! :) Review: Humans by Matt Haig - “Earth was weird. But strangely beautiful.” Just finished The Humans by Matt Haig, and it’s one of those books that makes you pause, laugh, and rethink the little things you take for granted — like peanut butter, music, math… and love… Told from the perspective of an alien trying to understand humans, this book is witty, bizarre, deeply philosophical, and surprisingly tender. It holds up a mirror to the chaos of our everyday lives and somehow makes it all feel poetic. But here’s the thing: While I appreciated the humor and cleverness of The Humans, I still relate more to Nora from The Midnight Library. Her quiet struggle, the questions about regret and purpose — they hit closer to home. The Humans made me smile, but The Midnight Library made me feel seen. Still, this was a fun, mind-opening read. It’s quirky, clever, and packed with brilliant one-liners about what it means to be human. If you’re feeling lost, curious, or just want to be reminded of life’s strange beauty — give it a read. Favorite line: “Love is why humans are here. It is the only thing they truly need to be good at.” Follow me on sonia_readsandrambles on Instagram and Check out my profile on Goodreads!

Awesome book
Very good, really interestingly plot. When a mathematical discovery is made on Earth an alien is sent from far far from earth to kill the man who has made the discovery and destroy the documents and those who know about it. The alien that hates earth and everybody on it except the dog Newton is changed gradually to like earth and humans. What changes its opinion towards earth to change and how once the stupid things like emotions, mortality and love starts to make sense is the story. It's written beautifully and funny way too. Absolute pleasure to read this.

A must read
I dont usually give reviews but this book has changed me. It is a love story ,a sci fi ,an introspection all at once it makes us fear humanity as much as it makes us love it. It's decently long and can be read if one sitting if one musts .( believe me you won't be able to keep it aside once you start)

Scouting report on humans
The humans is an intriguing take on the morality and ethos of humanity. If you have ever felt the need to reassess the concept of humanity and it's inherent emotional and religious prejudices, utilising an alien to do a scouting report would be the ideal way to do it. The language and perception created by the protagonist alien in the first half of the book forces us to do self assessment of the human values and cliches. The bland and objective analysis by the alien makes it an interesting and sometimes comical read. It is the second half of the book which looked a bit more movie like to me where the protagonists character takes a sudden turn for unexplained reason. How can an otherwordly being bereft of emotions & pain be willing to be a human with limited interaction on Earth seems contrived to me. Anyways , I will definitely recommend this book for a philosophical assessment of the concept of humanity. Just gloss over the end of the book as it is too filmy .... At least for me

Menschen haben Fehler. Menschen sind unsicher. Menschen zweifeln.
