I have 2 grandsons ages 8 and 5. I have gifted the 8-year-old several Snap Circuits sets. He plays with them for hours! My younger grandson feels very left out. They are just too advanced for him. This set was a great solution to the problem! He had a lot of fun having his own "experiment"!

I bought this for our STEM summer camp. The kids loved it. It was easy to assemble.

This is pretty cool, and an easy build for young kids. My 5yo nephew loves it. Note that this is USB powered, so you'll need a power bank or wall adapter plug. Lost a star due to the following: 1) The nightlight domes are thin, flexible plastic - not sure they will stand up to repeated changing... 2) the baseplate that comes with this set is a thin, flimsy flexible plastic as well. For a one-time build it was passable, but it flexed when my nephew tried to snap the pieces on, so we had to pick it up and squeeze between our fingers to secure the pieces. A rigid base like the one in our 15yo multi-purpose set would have been much better.

Grandchildren enjoyed making their own night light.

This was purchased as a gift. I'm not sure how it functions yet. For time purposes Im keeping it. The pieces to be constructed seem made well, BUT the circuit board you attach them to is made of really flimsy plastic, as if it's meant to be packaging, not part of the actual product! They need to remedy this aspect to match the quality of the rest of the product. That piece won't last- then it's all useless.
