Soundcore Select 2S Bluetooth Speaker By Anker, Portable with 20W Stereo Sound, BassUp, 16H Playtime, Wireless Stereo Pairing, IPX7 Waterproof, Speaker for Home, Shower, Hiking, Outdoor Adventures

The Soundcore Select 2S delivers impressive sound for a speaker in this size range. The 20W stereo output produces clear audio with solid volume, and the BassUp feature adds noticeable depth without overwhelming the mids and highs. Whether listening to music, podcasts, or videos, the sound stays balanced and distortion remains minimal even at higher volumes. Battery life has been excellent, easily lasting through long listening sessions and outdoor use. The IPX7 waterproof rating makes it great for poolside, camping, or shower use without worrying about splashes or rain. It’s also compact enough to throw into a backpack, which makes it convenient for travel or hiking. Wireless connection is quick and stable, and the option to pair two speakers for stereo sound is a nice bonus if you want a bigger audio setup. One helpful tip is to place the speaker on a solid surface like a table or shelf to enhance bass response. Also, keeping it charged before longer outings ensures you get the full benefit of the extended battery life. Overall, this is a well-built portable speaker that offers strong sound quality, durability, and excellent battery performance for both indoor and outdoor listening.

First of all, it's smaller than I anticipated. Sound is great. Crisp and clear. Not tinny. Clean. Bass is clean and never boomy, but given the size and weight (and price), it is muted. No complaint. The BassUp button is a nice feature at low volume, and the Souncore app includes an equalizer that actually works! This will serve me well in the yard or doing chores indoors and out. Volume on board is synced with the device volume (adjust either). No microphone, so this is not a speakerphone. You can even power it off from the app (but not on, of course). Seems to be quality, no surprise there! And yes, it gets loud. So outdoor use is a win, but if you want to fill radio city music hall, you'll need a few of them. Good choice at any reasonable price. At the typical Amazon price, it's a no brainier.

*UPDATE* - Anker has some of the best customer service. They resolved my issue very fast. Updating my stars for sure. The Anker Brand is my favorite and first choice period. If you're looking for speaker that is clear, reasonably priced, holds a charge, compact then this is it. Didn't try to test it's "Waterproof" feature and hope to never have to. I however, was looking for something with a more full sound. I always know I'm going to have something of decent quality with Anker. If you're just looking for a good speaker with or without bass, this is the speaker. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED! If you want that Bass and prefer a smaller speaker Anker Soundcore Boost is the one. PROS: Easy to connect, battery life is good, sound reaches pretty far as any Anker speaker would. Good size not too small, not too large, smoothe feel (my personal love). Good price. CONS: We'll continue off the price comment above. You get what you pay for. Regretting the purchase simply due to the sound expectation. The "Bass Up" feature is rendered useless. Zero difference in sound. I tried different genres of music as well as played a movie. There is no difference in sound which is quite unfortunate. I have a Soundcore Boost with the bass boost, so the expectation for a decent sounding boost from the same company is what I thought I was getting but I was mistaken. 99% sure I will be returning this.

At this point, I've had this speaker for about a year and it's worked fantastic this entire time. Battery life is great, seems to charge very quickly too. Even after as much as I use it, battery hasn't seemed to degrade. For the size of this unit, it's surprisingly loud and the sound quality is very clear. I've taken this with kayaking, gotten rained on while using it, used it in the shower, left in it a hot car and it just keeps on working. Super durable product. Anker normally nails this and this speaker is no exception.

This little speaker is so easy to pair with devices and use. I am still amazed at the sound quality, and it stays charged a long time. I have been using this speaker for about 2 years and it has never ran out of power. I charge it and it lasts a long time.

I have been using an original Soundcore Select speaker at work for at least 8 years. I have noticed lately that it charges slower and only has about 60-70% of the battery life it once had, requiring me to place it on a charger during a 10 hour work shift. Decided to replace it, I use the Soundcore Motion + paired with my laptop and have been very happy with it. However I wanted to replace the Select with one more closely to the same size. Very happy with the more powerful Select S2, it has more volume, much better sound, especially when used in conjunction with the app, and its equalizer, with a usbc charging port. Since I passed the original Select to a coworker to use at his workbench, I can finally ditch my last mini-usb charging cable. $34 and change was a very fair deal.

I've been using the Soundcore Select 2S for almost a year now, and honestly, it's been flawless. The sound is clean, the bass is solid for its size, and it gets loud enough to fill a room or take outside. What really stands out is the battery life — I use it almost daily, and sometimes I forget it even needs charging. It just keeps going. It’s fully waterproof as advertised, feels rugged in hand, and has handled daily use without a single issue. Whether I’m chilling indoors or taking it on the road, it just works — no fuss, no problems. If you want something portable, durable, and reliable with great sound, this is it.

So I have had a soundcore boost for years now and its still kicking strong with no issues and its on blasting at least 8hrs a day. So when I saw the new Soundcore Select 2S out and on sale for black friday I figured it would be at least as good since both are the same watt output. Well I was wrong. The Select 2S has lots of distortion above 75 percent volume where as the Boost sounds great at full volume. The Boost has much more defined sound and bass as well. So If you can spend a little more then get the Boost. However if money is tight, the Select 2s isn't bad, it just doesn't compare to the Boost. I used to have a JBL flip and ot compares pretty equal to the Boost. But the JBL died after a year of heavy use and my Boost sounds as great as it did out of the box.

Misanthrope

For an expensive (€40) mini bluetooth speaker, the sound is atrocious. Very thinny, no bass. No wide stereo sound. Very enclosed small sound even at max volume and bass boost on. This is the updated version with better spec of 20Watts - No way it's that. Maybe 10W at a push! I've heard way better from cheaper no-name brands. I bought this expecting more from Anker with that price tag. Not worth it. Look elsewhere!
