Marvel Studios Avengers: Infinity War [DVD] [2018]

My dvd arrived exactly on time .and in perfect condition..thrilled with the seller..

Good film

I'm very surprised to see this getting a nine out of ten some places after watching this disc last night. Yes it's a clean presentation, but the picture pales and I mean PALES in comparison to Guardians Of The Galaxy Vol. 2, Passengers or The Revenant (which have a 4K DI) – it's considerably less detailed, colourful and lacks the same contrast punch. Plus, they haven't even brought over the variable aspect ratio from the IMAX cut and that really is a sin! Likewise, the audio is perfectly serviceable, but lacks wow factor – monitoring what's coming out of where on a 15-channel FULL Atmos system, I can tell you that 90% of the mix is coming from the main fronts and centre speaker – which are over-taxed in places – with a real lack of body in the bass particularly compared to other UHD discs I have. The Atmos mixes of Black Panther and GOTG2 provide a significantly more enveloping and satisfying audio experience. The film is admittedly a riot, I absolutely love it. But in the world of UHD BD, this disc is average at best. Reviews have tended to compare the disc to its 1080p Blu-ray version, noting its (marginal) superiority where it should, in my opinion, be compared to other notable UHD discs. It's okay to give this a lower score than the BD, even if it does look and sound slightly better. It's a different format with a different set of expectations. A decent disc, and a great film, but a great disc should be expected for a production of this magnitude.

Avengers: Infinity War is the third film in the Avengers series but this time combining many other of the Marvel films series, including Guardians Of The Galaxy, Spiderman, Doctor Strange & Black Panther. The film has Thanos search for the 6 infinity stones, when he obtains them, he will have unlimited power and will be able to wipe out half the universe with the click of his fingers. Thanos believes that the universe is overpopulated and there are not enough resources for everyone, so if he wipes out half, he will be giving a better life for the other half. This is of course genocide and incredibly evil, but Thanos genuinly believes he is doing the right thing and will stop at nothing to achieve it. Thanos is an incredibly likeable villain, he is as ive said above, evil, but he is just so cool and even though he has featured in Marvel films before, this film is his time to shine and works as his origin story, this is essentially, Thanos the movie as he is the star of the show here. Thanos and his villianous team go out to try and retrieve the stones, but the heroes will do all they can to stop them, the way all the characters meet and the unlikely friendships and not so friendly meetings are really interesting and entertaining to watch. Avengers Infinity War is full of different emotion, it is hilarious, full of action and is entertaining throughout, but its also sad and shocking, there are character deaths and the ending cliffhanger will stun viewers and leave them speechless. A proper WTF moment, the ending has become a huge talking point for this movie and even though it does shock, it does leave an interesting cliffhanger which will lead into Part 2, which is out next year. Overall though as a standalone film, this is Thanos’s movie, he is an awesome character and also plenty other awesome characters appear and meet which is such a fun thing to watch, this is an outstanding Marvel film, keeping up their consistant quality of movies and starts the end of this series of Marvel movies and some of these characters and films fantastically, it is epic.

Great movie

Excellent movie and features. A bit cheesed off with a small fault at a dramatic moment in the movie (*** SPOILER ALERT!! *** During an important, pivotal early character death scene! Grrrrrrr!). Switched to the version without the Director intro and was ok. Apart from that, thoroughly enjoyable Marvel product throughout! It's a shame the actors and characters have to age (as we ordinary mortals must) and not as their comic book counterparts. The first 10 years of Marvel Studios' movies are always superb and exceptionally well cast. Although you don't really notice any aging, growing up with the movies, as with close family and friends, it's not so noticeable at all. But eventually, these favourite actors will step down and move on to other projects; or characters would be killed off or enevitably replaced by younger actors. Such a shame. Because Marvel have beautifully encapsulated their Cinematic Universe so well to culminate in the 'Avengers: Infinity War' and upcoming 'Avengers 4'. It's a natural conclusion (without my giving anything away to other viewers yet to see 'Avengers: Infinity War'). With such a wonderful variety and diversity of Marvel Movie and TV product and characters, there is plenty to cheer on for everybody. There are new characters yet to be seen on the big and small screen. I look forward to discovering them too. Perhaps there could still be room for 'untold tales' of Cap, Iron Man, Thor, Hulk, Black Widow, et al set before the big Avengers movies?

The download worked fine and at a decent price. The film was thoroughly enjoyable even if the premise has been changed somewhat from the source material (could see no logic in Thanos' reason this time around, I could at least understand his love for Death in the comic). Dr Strange, Starlord etc were all first rate. Was somewhat disappointed that two characters that played a prominent part in the original comics were not in the story at all (Silver Surfer and Warlock). Would love to see a Warlock film with Pip etc. Didn't really see the awesomeness of the powers of the gauntlet in the film (in the comics, we had the Celestials, Watcher, Infinity, Galactus etc and much more) but in this, not so much. Overall, a first rate film though and I can't wait to see the sequel (as well as Captain Marvel etc)
